really depends on the type of shot... it's hard for me to control the trajectory on long irons...so if it's 200 needing a really soft landing..I hit my 2hy pretty high...so I'd grip down and swing smoothly.
if it's over water no trouble in the back... same thing...
if I can run up to it.. i'll hit a 4...and sometimes 3 if there's a light wind.

i stepped up to my home courses 200yd par3 #16 today...
pulled my 3h... teed the ball up barely above the ground...
hit a very high... nicely drawing shot...
hit the slope in front of the green... backing the ball right into the water hazard...
short as a mofo... needed about 5-10 more yards on that puppy... suxor
