From personal experience, I was losing 10 yards off the tee using the ProV1. (driver ss around 90 with a low launch). I'm back to using the NXT Tour.

For the past few days I have been practicing and comparing the Srixon AD333, Nike one vapor and pro V1. What I have found is the pro v1 launches lower than the other two with all clubs. The distance with the driver is pretty much equal between the three of them, however, the vapor was the shortest with iron shots, followed by the Ad333 and the V1 was longest (around 5 yds longer than the vapor with mid irons). Obviously the V1 stopped quickest on the greens and felt softer for chipping and putting.
I have tried many times to find an alternative ball to the Pro V1 but nothing beats it, simple as that.

Thats interesting. Time to compare a premium ball to my AD333. I wish ProV1 wasn't so good because they are such a rip off! Before someone replies to that statement, Im sorry-they are just overpriced IMO. £31 is the lowest I seen for 12. The new Z-Star from Srixon is £29. So maybe not that overpriced-Im contradicting myself now-Ok, I want to pay £15 for a premium ball-someone make this happen please.

Buy the lake balls from JJB, just £12.99.

Even at my standard I wouldn't use a lake ball. Probably not gonna be anything wrong with them, but in my head I'd be thinking my bad shots could be due to something wrong with the ball. I've seen tests that show if balls are submerged in lakes and bad weather, their performance is compromised. Wouldn't be surprised if the golf companies got some researchers to invent some stats to help convince people that, but still, could be true!

Do you use Lake balls Walfice-you are a good player-so maybe if you use them it will convince me to try em!

The test I did was with lake ProV1's (I buy the ones from JJB) and NEW srixon and nike's so even if the performance is reduced it still works better than the other two balls. I really don't think the particular lake balls I use perform any different from new ones (not enough for me to notice anyway) because I have used new ones before and can't really tell a difference.
I do agree that if a ball has been submerged in water for weeks on end or been plugged in mud for the winter then performance will be affected. Give them a go and see what you think.
