I might be getting a job at a golf course which means free golf so the money i had saved for summer long green's fees is just burning a hole in my pocket. I don't want to blow all of it but i am thinking of some new wedges. My current wedges are 4 years old and i definiatley got my money's worth out of them. Do you think it will help my short game to get some new vokeys that put a little more spin on the ball and don't have worn out grooves. Also, my pro shop has the Special Grind Vokey's for 50 bucks. I am mainly worried about replacing my 56 degree sand wedge. If i get this special grind one and later purchase the normal spin milled will i notice a difference other than me cuz my wedges won't match in my bag.... lol... Thanks for the information.

I live getting new wedges. the spin and the crispness of every shot is soooo nice.

for the Vokeys, I would hit all the grinds/bounces available and see which one really grooves with your swing.

I had gamed an old 200 series Vokey and a really old Watson gunmetal wedge forever. At one time my 5 iron had more spin than my wedges. Finally, when I just couldn't sharpen them anymore and I could feel the swingweight decreasing, I knew it was time for a new set. Let me tell you, confidence in the set you buy will improve your short game, and nothing else.

well the special grind only comes in one configuration and it is for either type of swing. If i get the normal spin milled i am just going to get the bounce for either type of swing to play it safe. Are there and advantages or disadvantages to the special grind limited edition ones?

only if you know how to play those type of shots. tinker with them a little bit. I'm guessing if wedges aren't your strong point then, you will hit those fat.
