I've really had my eye on these but am unsure if they will fit my needs. I walk most of the time and play 4-5 days each week when the weather permits in upstate NY. I tend to go through other FJs quite quickly (dryjoys). Would these be good walking shoes? How long do you think they would last me? I'd hate to spend that much coin on shoes that won't be ultra durable, comfortable, etc.

I think you might be better off with more than one pair if you're playing that often. All leather shoes should only be worn one day on - one day off, to give them time to breathe. Even though I usually only play once or twice a week, I still have have a pair of white FJ eComforts and a black pair of black eComforts which I alternate each week. Maybe you'd be better off with two solid pairs of shoes instead of one awesome pair that will get worn out very quickly. Good luck with your choice, in my opinion you can't go wrong with any Footjoys.

If they are the shoes I am thinking of I don't think they would be good for walking. Probably very comfortable, but very heavy. If you do get them, get some cedar shoe trees to put in them after every round. They will absorb some of the sweat and they will last longer.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

Classics Tours would be better for walking... Lighter sole, more durable IMO... I have several pair that are great... Cedar shoe trees are a must... Better get the Classics line now if you want them, FootJoy is closing the plant that mfgs them

    • Truer words have never been spoken, as I am seeing tonight 😅. I hope my ignorance did not come across as arrogant… Definitely true, however there was also a pro present, albeit not trained in GEARS specifically as would be necessary. I am certainly learning a lot (as I hoped I would). I am not here to challenge the accuracy or significance of any data, as I did find it interesting how it objectively showed my swing. What I am wondering is if an expert teacher trained in GEARS was shown a swing with and without GEARS, would the pro come to a different conclusion using GEARS versus "traditional methods," genuinely curious.

    • This^  @Huffy, Go check out https://www.youtube.com/@AthleticMotionGolf They do a great job deciphering reality versus perception. One that comes to mind with 2D is perceiving lag using video. Two players can have the exact same lag, but because of the positioning of their arms, one looks to have tremendously more lag than the other.  Video is great for a lot of stuff, you truly can't hide anything from GEARS. Like anything that gives to a TON of data, knowing what to look for and how to decipher it is key.
