I've demoed the 09 burner irons and I really like them... but being brand new they are 699.99.

I know that a lot of people are clearing out the r7 irons and I found a place online selling a set of steel, stiff r7 irons (4-aw) for 369.99 with free shipping. Were talking more than half the price.

Which would be of more value to you?

Has anyone played the r7 irons?

If you haven't seen the marketing for the burner irons you don't pay attention to much golf stuff on tv or in magazines! haha, they are longer, lighter shafts and built as individual irons instead of set. But will they be 330 dollars better than the r7's?

What's your take?

P.S. The website is golfclubliquidators.com for those interested. Any ever bought from them? They seem legit and have a 6548 rating on ebay.

Both are good sets of irons. You would not be disappointed in either set. If the 30 handicap is correct, my recommendation are the R7's and spend the balance on lessons. This will do much more for your game, than spending more up front right now. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

I liked the feel of the R7 TP's but never hit the regular R7's... both sets are pretty ugly in my opinion. I just don't like the graphics on those clubs. I would definately just get the R7's though... why pay double for no reason.

I'd like to know too! I currently play the r7 draws and like em but wonder if the new 09 irons would be better suited for me. I'm a 15-16 handicap.

I'm not quite a 30 handicap, I just put that because I've never figured it out. I'm trying to do that now... I've had a couple lessons but definitely want more.

I guess saving 350 would be a good idea. I just didn't want to go backwards if technology is progressing... surely the burner irons cant be that much better than the r7

Go with the R7's. Sure the black looks sleek, but does that really matter? The difference would be how confident you are with each. That $300+ you will save can go towards more lession or to help buy other clubs.

To Movies2090, I've played the R7 draws, and did not like them. They were very forgiving, and when you would get clean contact you had a good feel for the ball, but when you were off centre you lost a lot of the feeling. Alos, I did not like the feel of swinging them, it felt as if they were doing too much work, and I was a mere catalyst for the motion.

Iron technology doesn't progress anywhere near as fast as say driver and wood technology.

So then your vote would be go with the r7 irons over the new burner irons?

It's funny you say that in a thread about the most technology advanced irons. The 09 Burners are the start of something new. I'm sure you've all heard about each club being designed individually. This is why you will find that the soles, forgiveness, and head size differ between the long, mid, and short irons.

If you meant R7, I found them brand new on ebay, stiff steel for $355. Free Shipping. Place called golfclubliquidators.com

Speaking of... has anyone every bought irons on ebay? I've seen some buyer beware kinda stuff out there, warning about fake clubs. Come on, I know people sell fake purses and clothing... but are there that many fake clubs out there? If so, how do you tell if they are legit... the one I'm looking at is golfclubliquidators.com
