Does anybody have an idea if that promotion expired that Nike was running to buy the new Nike Sumo 5900 for 199.99 and get the free 3 wood?

I was planning on going to Dick's tomorrow to pick them up, but it doesn't look like its going to happen. Its not online anymore, the only thing I can guess is that it expired.

Thanks.

Don't know exactly.....bought mine 3 weeks ago at the Dicks in Flourence, SC. They said at first they weren't honoring the deal ( had every loft and lie you could want in the drivers and fairways).......the store manager yielded at last...........all I can say is that I'm grateful he did.

Well that will put a damper on your day.

I was excited about that deal....it seemed like it was really worth it. Oh well, something else will come up.

I was sold on the 5900 because of the free fairway wood, but now that deal is no longer availiable, I may get another driver. I want to get something pretty good for less than $200, 150 preferably so I can have a little left over for some woods eventually.

Looking back at possibly getting a Nickent 4dx now that the Nike Promo is over.

I need to get a good driver, and also a new 3 and 5 wood.

I'd definitely give Golfsmith a look. Callaway has the "buy a driver, get a wood for $1" deal, Cleveland is having the same deal Nike did (free wood w/ driver), and there are others.

Ok guys, I'm about to leave to head to Dick's and hit a few clubs and see what I think. I am looking for the deal that would be the "best bang for my buck" if you know what I mean.

I would love to pick up a free club and save myself having to spend another 200 on a fairway wood in a few weeks.

Thanks for the updates on the Taylor made and Adams deals. I'm going to check those out as well.

There sure isn't, as long as the clubs are right for you, and you're not just buying them because they're on sale. I'm sure you'll find the right club; good luck.

Not worth it because I don't like the Sumo Driver. They will probably have the promotion that other sites are doing with Free fairway or hybrid with purchase of '09 Burner for 299.99

That's the thing; some people go for deals just for the sake of saving money, not what is actually best for them.

I'm glad I got some input on the Sumo.

I went to Dick's today and hit the Burner and fell in love. Thats what I'm getting. I'm going back Monday to pick it up and I'm going to hit the Cleveland and the Diablo just to see if I like either one of those better, but I don't see that happening. The Burner just felt great after ther first swing. We are going to try and find which shaft would be the best, but today I was hitting the Stiff shaft that was on it and it felt great. I was swinging at about 108-110 after I got warmed up and it felt just right.

For 299 I can get the Burner plus a fairway wood or hybrid. I need the fairway wood, so thats what I am going to go with.

Sounds like a pretty sweet deal.

I demoed a new Burner stiff 10.5 degree driver last month for some range time and then during the following 18 hole round.

It is a easy swinging club......you almost have to throttle back on some of our doglegs....don't want to overshoot the 90s too much......although launching them high wasn't a problem at all....forget the 90s and carry the doglegs!

Really awesome results with the Burner fairway woods, too.

Oh I loved it. It felt like riding a brand new motorcycle right off the showroom floor.

Has anybody had pretty good luck with the fairway wood? I'm guessing its just as good as the driver, but its always nice to get some real world experience over reviews from the manufacturer.
