yes i play on a high school team. my school is a small private school, and we got a team like 2 years ago, but we are ok. for college i would like to play golf somewhere, but i have no clue how to go about getting my name out and stuff so if anyone has any advice, feel free to give it. But besides the golf i'm thinking of Virginia Tech (since i grew up in bburg), Wake Forest and Grove City College, which is like an hour north of Pittsburg.

ok...i'll do that, cuz i know my course doesnt do a handicap, but i've been told i can become a VSGA member and get a handicap by just sending in scores and stuff, and for the state ameatuer u have to have under a 2 handicap or something to try to qualify

I would look up some schools and email the coaching staff. Ask them what they look for in recruits. What type of numbers or rankings you'd need to start or just to make the team. If you really just want to play golf and don't care so much about the name of the school I'd check into some Div. 2 and Div. 3 schools.

I played tennis at a Div. 1 school and it was really overrated. I transferred to a Div. 3 school and am loving it. First of all I own like all the school records for wins, get to play all the time and its a lot of fun. Div.1 tends to look down on fun and takes it way to seriously. Just my 2 cents.

thanks...i've done a couple of those recruiting questionaires for some schools i've been looking at...i think i'll prob go the div3 route...if i'm good enough to even do that

Yeah go for it. ITs a lot of fun and totally worth it. No point playing at a Div 1 school if you don't enjoy it so go where you'll have the best experience!

    • Day 171: mirror work while watching tv. Working on cleaning up the backswing stuff.
    • Day 25: 1/4/2025 Mirror day. I did some good mirror work with a 7 iron. Once again focus here is on pushing the carpet away with my lead leg. Sort of like I'm sitting in a office chair and want to scoot across the room.  Later, I used the putting mirror on the putting mat. Rolling 8 footers down a straight line on the mat.
    • Day 96 - 2025-01-04 Fighting it. Keeping my streak alive, but not by a lot. Got all of seven minutes or so in today. Maybe eight. 😛 Still backswing. Trip next week might be interesting, ha ha. Not gonna worry about it.
    • What does this have to do with the topic?
    • The Top flite Gamer, designed by Callaway, was once an excellent budget ball and won many gold awards from Golf Digest. The original Gamer was a 3 piece ball with a urethane cover. The 2024 version is a 2 piece ball with a cheaper ionomer cover. The top ball below clearly shows the cheaper 2024 2 piece Gamer and the bottom is the 2021 3 piece Gamer.   DSG acquired the brand from Callaway and has systematically destroyed it.
