Can a driver shaft that is to stiff cause you to hit high ballooning fade to slice shot's.

I think shaft weight and torque also need to be factored in.

Example: For the last year I have been using a Nike Sasquatch Tour 460 with stiff Diamana Blueboard 83g with 3.0 torque rating and can get it to carry about 240-250 and depending on course conditions, maybe 10-15 yards of roll.
If I mishit this, I usually get a huge slice - still goes pretty far though.

However, the past 2 months using a Titleist 905R with a stiff but 10grams lighter Grafalloy Blue with a 2.8 torque rating, I can barely get it to 230 with maybe 10 yards roll.
If I mishit this, I get a hideous duck-hook that just dies after 180-200...

And my swing-speed has been measured on a launch-monitor at between 95-105mph.

It's possible. There are so many factors in determining ballflight, that that question can't be answered without a proper fitting.

In my stand bag:
909D3 with 10.5 degrees of loft and a 45 inch Fujikura Rombax 6Z08, x-flex
909F3 15* with a stock Diamana Blue
FT 18* with an Aldila NV
X-forged ('07), 3-PW with Project X 6.0 CG12, 53/11, and 58* with DSG Red X2, 33"All with Lamkin Crossline Full Cord. (except the putter of...

It sure can. Calling a shaft stiff is a relative term. Just because it says stiff doesn't mean it is, and certainly doesn't mean it's stiff enough for you.

i thought whippy flex's tended to balloon more than stiff ones

I guess the question I'm trying to ask is if the shaft is to stiff or to light would it not allow me to get the right amount of kick out of the tip and keep the club face from squareing up at impact ? I'm just wondering if this has happened to anybody else where they kept the same swing and clubhead but switched shaft's and went from hitting terrible shot's to consistantly hitting good shot's?

In a word; yes. Not sure I'd expect them to be "high" but weak fade/slice definitely. I guess the height might reflect the tip stiffness somewhat though; if it's tip soft it'll tend to go higher.

    • Down the line and face on from today. Still feeling like I’m sticking the club into a hole in the ceiling above my right shoulder and then big loop inside to start downswing. That’s how it feels. Not how it looks though! Gotta keep working on this for a bit but I see a lot of progress. 😁
    • Day 5 (13 Mar 26) - Friday shootout cancelled- made it a practice round working from mixed tees. Plenty of up and down work around greens.  Best was a hole out birdie on the par 3 #5 hole - nice pitch and roll w/Pw from about 10yds off the green - dead center flagstick drop.  Much of round was focused on getting solid weight shift into lead foot.
    • Day 208 3-13 Worked on wrist arching and flow. First time hitting reall balls at a range in months. It was nice to see ball flight. Still not sure it beats my backyard practice station.
    • Three hole match - microphones on in the cart. It's fascinating listening to them talk about their shots and how they play them. I'm not normally a huge fan of the TM videos - they seem forced to me - but this one doesn't. It's also fun seeing their competitiveness over what on the face of it is a fairly meaningless 3 holes, but they can't help themselves.
