SCREEEEEEEETCH!!!! Hit the breaks!! I have played 2 rounds now w/ the Tour SQ and have hit 2 fairways so far....Its long no doubt but I cannot hit it straight, its a fade or full on slice every time...The only way I can hit it straight is to play it off my left pinky toe now and close the face, way to forward IMO. I hit a consistant draw to straight ball with my other 12 clubs but the driver is right, hard right. Same swing same everything..anyone have any ideas? Club is a 9.5 Tour with NV60 X shaft, standard Length.

It's either

a) not the same swing b) a horribly fitted club for you Since you don't list your clubs in your sig, tough to say whether you really should be playing an X shaft.

Sorry, just added the sig... In terms of shaft though, all my clubs are X flex. Last time I was fitted I was in the 125mph club head speed area so I go X always, thing is, I was hitting 7 iron straight then 3 wood straight driver wicked slice all inside a minute, then back to 3 wood straight 3 iron straight bannanna slice driver, it was weird. Been playing golf all my life (28 yrs old) and have never seen such a thing. Perhaps the shaft isnt the right one for me afterall either brand or flex? Ill keep trying, its still new afterall...

Maybe the fact that other clubs have offset, or maybe a little draw bias and the SQ Tour has none. And maybe you're just overswinging, trying to goose it too much. I'd suggest a look at your old driver to see if it's actually the club.

Dude, that is a fantastic idea, as simple of a suggestion as that was I honestly never even thought of that. My old driver was a Titleist 975j in X flex, ill pull it out this weekend and do a side by side comparo...Thanks man, I appreciate it. Like Phil, Im such an idiot, I bought it from Ebay sight unseen having never hit a Sasquatch ever hoping for the best....Still hoping...

... Seven Lakes.????

Dude, did I read you live in Southern Pines.?

I've probably played 20+ courses in and around your neighborhood ... I was there last month even looking for a house (and playing golf) .... very nice, but a little too quite for me, but still a great area for golf .. some of the best courses in the entire country.!

Whats in the bag.?

Driver: Tour Edge 10* Jmax 460 Carbon with the Fuji Vista Pro 50 shaft/and, the Burrows 10.5* MAC 421cc with the Grafalloy Pro Launch 55 shaft.

...... After playing a bunch of courses in Myrtle Beach and other area's of the country and hearing so much about "Pinehurst #2" (the Open of course) I figured I needed to check it out .. and I've been down there 3 times in the last year.

The first time, we played Pinehurst #2 and #6 .. and I was a little surprised, because they aren't as tough and as challenging as some of the others we've played there ... The National, Mid-South (Great courses), Tot Hill (that's a killer), the Carolina (great course, best kept secret), Legacy, the Pit, Little River (good start-up course), Tobacco Road (bring your A+ game and then some), Talamore, Whispering Pines, Mid Pines (ho-hum, plays like the Pinehurst course), Woodlake (don't play there if you don't do water), Longleaf, the Bayonet and I played Foxfire with the pro last month, not a bad course ..l.o.l... I haven't had a chance to play Seven lakes, yet ... Great courses, some of the very best in the country.!

    • What's the rest of that story? Where was the ball going?
    • The criticisms are starting already 🤣 U.S. Open pro criticizes Shinnecock green conditions: 'Bumpy' After playing his first practice round at the 2026 U.S. Open, Michael Kim offered a less-than-glowing review of Shinnecock's "bumpy" greens.   The sand, I don't care about that. If the greens didn't come back as well for latest aerification, that would be a bit of a blunder on Shinnecock I think.
    • Well, if your frame of reference spins twice during the swing, then Bryson's ab/adduction is more like 780 degrees so there! (Yes I'm being silly, but not sure it's any sillier than what your pal Andy is doing...)
    • Update: Brandon Sorsby has decided to enter the NFL Supplemental Draft. He will not play for Texas Tech in the upcoming season.  From my perspective, I think he did the right thing. I hope he gets the correct help for his gambling addiction. I say the right thing, because I would be worried that the stress from all of this now and throughout the entire year would not be beneficial towards his mental health.  If an NFL team picks him up, then there really isn't any pressure for him to play immediately. He can work on himself and his game for the NFL.  From Texas Tech,  "Texas Tech will continue to provide the support and recovery resources Brendan requires on this journey. Furthermore, Texas Tech will not seek return of any amounts already paid to Brendan through his NIL agreements with the University," Campbell wrote. "We wish our best to Brendan, and we offer our prayers to him and his family as he chases his dreams at the next level. This has been an unbelievably painful experience for us all, but I know that his true, underlying character and lessons learned through this experience will ultimately bring him great success on the field of play and in life." Which, I also the right thing to do.
    • So, something I noticed yesterday at the range. My eyes and visualization of what the ball needs to do is way off. I put up an alignment stick about 10 yards down range. My initial thought was, "Oh crap". Even while wearing prescription sunglasses, and I know I am hitting it towards the sun, I couldn't pick up where the ball was at all.
