Ok, I've been doing some research on my Project X 5.5 shafts. Is there any truth to this post I found? I would consider my self a sweeper but am working on becoming a better ball striker (i.e. taking more divots) and I do notice the feel is much better when hitting more down on it. Now is that just the correct feel or is it the shaft? Ugh...I'm confused, thanks for the input.

I agree with Besson.
Furthermore, the Project X's play stiff to flex, so a 5.5 would play close to extra stiff. The Project X is an interesting shaft. They are lighter than many steel shafts, yet play fairly tip stiff. They feel wonderful if you hit down on the ball and take a divot, but don't load well unless you take a divot. They are NOT for sweepers. If you hit the ball thin, they feel very harsh. I tried some irons in them a year or so ago, and found out they were not for me, since I tend to take a shallow divot at most, and sweep my longer irons. (I had heard this information before I got them, but foolishly chose to ignore it; the advice about sweepers vs. digger/divot takers was right on, in my experience. Oh, well; they got a good price as pullouts on e-bay. I even included an advisory in my e-bay ad about the type of person who could benefit from them)

oh and let me add this, since last year with my Mp 57 and Project X 5.5 shafts I seem to be a club shorter with my irons?

They're a little tip stiff, sure, and spin a bit less than DG S300s, but they're not really lighter (many steel shafts are lighter) and they're certainly not "5.5 = extra stiff."

So 5.5 would be stiffer than DG S300's? Is that the conclusion? did more research and that does seem to be the concensous?

I have the MP 60s with the TTDG s and I noticed them being shorter than my last irons. I do not think it is the shafts. I bent mine a little strong and it got me back to the distance I like to hit my irons (8 iron 150)

So IMO it probably isn't the shaft.

No, less stiff. DG S300s are about 5.75 or 5.8.

The GolfWRX boys certainly talk about DGS300 as about 5.8 on the PX scale. Personally, I couldn't stand the PX shafts; flight etc was fine but they felt way too harsh for me. That said though, I'm not a huge divot taker.....

    • Down the line and face on from today. Still feeling like I’m sticking the club into a hole in the ceiling above my right shoulder and then big loop inside to start downswing. That’s how it feels. Not how it looks though! Gotta keep working on this for a bit but I see a lot of progress. 😁
    • Day 5 (13 Mar 26) - Friday shootout cancelled- made it a practice round working from mixed tees. Plenty of up and down work around greens.  Best was a hole out birdie on the par 3 #5 hole - nice pitch and roll w/Pw from about 10yds off the green - dead center flagstick drop.  Much of round was focused on getting solid weight shift into lead foot.
    • Day 208 3-13 Worked on wrist arching and flow. First time hitting reall balls at a range in months. It was nice to see ball flight. Still not sure it beats my backyard practice station.
    • Three hole match - microphones on in the cart. It's fascinating listening to them talk about their shots and how they play them. I'm not normally a huge fan of the TM videos - they seem forced to me - but this one doesn't. It's also fun seeing their competitiveness over what on the face of it is a fairly meaningless 3 holes, but they can't help themselves.
