I dont know much about my driver, I traded my buddy a pair of basketball tickets for it when I had just started playing golf. I have come across some money and am torn between a new driver or a 60* and a putter. Which do you guys think will give me the better results?

Get all 3 used in really good condition! There is another thread about this right now. Some people say no to used wedges, but if you can examine it and cant tell the difference, it's all good. Got my last gen Burner new in plastic for $140, Cleveland 56* used for $45 and my absolutely mint Spider putter used for $109 (actually 76 after trade-in, you can trade in your Cobra). That adds up to ONE new $300 driver.

Golfsmith and PGA Superstore are your friends!

Ben Hogan is my swing coach.

60* is a tricky club. If you want to spend your cash on one item, get a putter... try out EVERY one possible before though. I went in Saturday night and tried out 10 putters for about an hour.

1) Putter, 2) Driver or wedge (I'd normally say wedge, but I don't think a 60* is really called for until you shave about 10 strokes).

PUTTER

No way for you to believe a stranger on a forum, but if you want to drop some strokes, go get a Rife putter. Most are in the $150 range. I got a Rife Antigua recently and it is by far the best putter I have ever used. Can't explain it, just try one for yourself. Grooves in the face get the ball rolling smoothly. 40% of the players on the Champions Tour use a Rife putter. None are paid to do so. This is the real deal man. Something I rarely can say about a golf product. You can see them online at The Golf Warehouse, Edwin Watts, etc.. under the name "Guerin Rife".

Lessons are going to improve your game more than a new driver or putter or 60* wedge. Spend your money on some good lessons.

Exactly.

Are you happy with your putter? I find that there is nothing more comforting than confidence with your putter. There's nothing better than knowing that once you're on the green, the hole is taken care of. I'd place them in order of importance: putter > wedge > driver
