Ive been looking to buy a solid 60* lob wedge that will give me maximum spin on the ball. Ive been told the Ping I wedge is amazing! I need help!!

Don't understand what you need help with. There are plenty of top name brand wedges that give plenty of spin. Vokey, Cleveland, Callaway, Scratch, and so on. Just need to hit them and figure out which one fits you. Ball is also very crucial for spin.

Yeah, but in the end you will end up spending more on lost balls.

If you have the money, look at the ones mentioned above.

Sumo 10.5*
R7 Draw 15* 3W
3dx 17* 2H
Pi5 3-PW

I love my cleavland, its great. Vokeys are also very nice.

I used to have a purespin a while ago, if you keep those clean they have tons of spin. But as said its mostly the ball...

To prove this, I carry in my Bag PV1's, and DT carrys, 9/10 times from 70 yards Ill stick a ProV1 on the green no problem, DT carrys 9/10 times roll off.

My Callaway has tons of spin.

In regards to balls. I highly highly recommend the prov1 practice from TGW. They are 26-30 bucks and are great. Premium ball for medium price.

I am a recent but huge fan of Cleveland wedges. I got a set of 588's with DSG in Gunmetal from a golf store on Ebay for $209. That was 60 deg lob, 56 deg sand, and 52 deg gap. Just amazing wedges. I can feel the weight in the swing of the clubhead. I have never hit a wedge so consistently. Just fantastic wedges. Edwin Watts or Golfsmith had these for $69/each as well. About the same deal I got on Ebay. I say get the whole set. These are top notch wedges man. No question about it.

Link to the set.. The guy also has the sand and lob listed for $139. I got the set of three (L-S-G) for $209.

For balls that will spin without paying $40-45/box for Pro V1's or Srixon Z-stars, look at the below balls. All had great reviews in the recent Golf Digest "Hot Balls" article...

Topflite Gamer
Srixon Soft Feel (great ball I have played it myself)
Pinnacle "Feel"

All are $20/box

I love my ping Tour-W wedges. Not really because I think they're the best wedges for the money (in fact I'm pretty sure that they aren't), but rather because they look and feel like an extension of my S58 Iron set. That means a lot to me. All the clubs looking and feeling the same/similar. I've only used them for one round so far, but I couldn't be happier with the results. Never has my short game been in such good nick.

I'm very easily distracted and put off. One less thing to worry about as far as I'm concerned is a consistent look to the club, when you're over the ball.

In the bag:

Driver: 975D 10.5° True Temper EI-70 Stiff (Alternate 8.5° Titleist Stiff Graphite Shaft)
Fairway Woods: 975F (2 From) 14.5°, 18.5° True Temper EI-70 Stiff, 20.5° Titleist Stiff Graphite Shaft
3Iron-PW: S58 Dynamic Gold S300 ShaftsGap Wedge: Tour-W 54/10 Nickel...

    • Day 2: August 12.  I did 25 balls of the ruler drill from LSW for putting.  24 of the 25 stayed on the ruler through 36" but some were smoother than others.  I suspect if the ruler (and goal) had been 48" far fewer would have stayed on.  I'm trying to go by sound, and not look, since when I attempt short putts, I don't want to look (although now I wonder if that's conventional wisdom that turns out to be wrong).
    • Day 17: did mirror work while watching TV. Working on wrist feels.
    • Day 315 - 2025-08-12 Got a little work in before Juniors showed up for one of their Summer Sessions.
    • I always knew it as high but never that distance was 90-95% of rating! That has always played to my advantage. I never have but I could totally vanity cap myself by playing **super** long courses that are otherwise super easy. There was one course like that in LA that I used to play that helped my cap like that. The back tees were close to 7k yards, but otherwise the course was incredibly easy. Wide open, misses almost always had a play at the green from the adjacent hole, flat greens, not challenging green complexes, etc. But it got a high rating because it was so long. So I could swing hard, spray and pray, and score well (relative to my handicap).
    • Do need a special ferrul. Thanx 😉
