what's the difference? I know one is cast and one is forged, but what does that mean for a player? Thanks

AP1's are more forgiving, they're cast, they have a thicker top line, and are easier to hit for mid handicappers.

The AP2's are the forged tour-version, less forgiving, more workable - for low handicappers.

One of the pros (Sponsored by Titleist) at my home course plays AP1's, actually.

They are VERY different irons.

thanks, but then why are the ap2's 2 degrees weaker in loft than the ap1's?

because the ap1 will launch the ball much higher and because the ap2 launches lower the 2 degre differance will result in about the same distance

Why don't you go to the Titleist website and read about the differences.

By doing this you'll get some real information rather than someone saying nonsense like "forged is harder to hit". The AP1s and AP2s are completely different clubs aimed at different market segments.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.
