Well today I handled a SC studio putter...I loved it. Now I have this thing about having a matching bag. I was going clevland and I am still heading that way. Now that being said the putter I have just isn't working for me. could be that it was a gift and I didn't get to pick length. And as nice as the scotty was and I would love to make a titlest bag they are a little high in price. so I am between, if not continuing my cleveland bag, ping and mizuno. I know both make a good good iron and wood but as anyone used thier putters. I would prefer not to have an insert and luckly both have with and without. I know there is a lot of Titleist people but if there is any true comparison to the scotty and say ping redwood and Bettinardi I wouldn't mind hearing it. I would love to have titleist but I share that with ping. mizuno was a recent thought and I just wanna build a bag that I can not have to update for a few years.

I love Pings' putters. Bought a new putter myself this year. Went expecting to buy iwi anser or an odyssey blade but fell in love with the redwood answer which I just regripped with jumbo Winn.

Only way you are going to know is to try them out.

Mizuno's Bettinardi (sp?) are very good putters but high in price. Ping has a great selection of putter's.. Check them both out and I bet you will find one you like.

Is having a matching bag that important to you? I really would try to be more open minded about that.

Personally I'd rather have what works than what looks pretty together.

why don't you just get your putter shaft trimmed? You would probably only need to pay for a new grip, and a new grip may suit your hands better. Try that first.

I have the mizuno putter. Too me it feels very similar to the Scotty. I got mine on ebay for 55 dollars new. I really like it for what that is worth.

If it were me, I would not care about playing one brand. No one pays me to play any thing, I feel no loyality to any company. I have bought what I have gotten good deals on and it has worked.

I went through that with clubs, the bag, towel, umbrella, etc. Then I felt like a dink because it seemed like I was tryting to look sponsored.

No company in their right mind would sponsor me. Try various putters at different lengths. Though I am 6'1" tall and 35" wrist to floor, I putt the best with 33" putters. So long it is a heel shafted model, it really doesn't matter what make or model the putter is for me. I just trimmed my dad's putter to 34". Suddenly he's deadly inside 10 ft. He's my golf partner, so that's a good thing. I think 35" putters are too long for most people because they don't let your arms hang naturally. I think that's important in order to take the elbows and wrists out of the stroke and put the shoulders into it.

I love my Mizuno Bettinardi C-06. I used to have a Mizuno T.P. Mills (several actually) and they were great putters too. IMO, the Bettinardis have slightly better craftsmanship, but there is nothing wrong with a TPM.
The only real bad thing about TPMs is they arent very forgiving. If you dont hit the ball dead center on the putter face, the ball doesnt go as far as youd expect it to. Still great putters though.
Used Bettinardis can be bought on ebay for $150 and TPMs go for anywhere from $50-$100.

Holy crap. Note to self: don't play basketball against you. I'm 5'9" and have about the same wrist to floor. It's amazing the variety of people standard clubs work for... I think the one thing that's missing in putter length is putting style... If you're a Pelz straight through guy, go short putter. If you're an Utley style door swinging putter, go long putter with a flatter lie... -PG

I know it does sound dinky but yeah I have a thing with matching. ever since I played hockey as a kid i had all the same brand stuff. I know it is a superficial thing but it became my bad habbit. Like with what I have now bugs me. I would love to go with anything and everything but it's a habbit I can't break =/. belive me it's not that I look to be sponsored that would put me in the corner with the dunce hat. I guess I am a lable tool...

Dude, who cares if your bag matches or not. It has to be whatever makes you comfortable... If you like looking at your bag and you're proud of it, it will give you confidence. Do what you got to do!

+1 to that.

I hope I didn't sound that mean... I was only talking about myself. If it helps you play better by keeping you focused,by all means, do it. I was just trying to give a pep talk.
