Am I just having a bad month, or are these something like a half club or full club shorter then other clubs? I know the lofts are weaker? But only one degree in most cases...

I agree they do go VERY short(at least compared to the TM TPs). I always feel as if im "backing off of them" because they are soooooo hard to hit.

I got the MP 60s and noticed the same thing.

I got them bent 2 degrees stronger and they are all fixed. It kind of pissed me off not being able to hit my 8 iron 150 as I was used to.

I remember reading the reviews about them and some of the testers commented about this.

Well tm clubs are deep anyway LOL. My r7 to had about 15 yards on my mp 60 which were still deeper then my mp67! You went two in the entire set? I feel that since I dropped my five I I could make some compensations on the rest of my lofts. Thanks for the help guys!!

You guys might want to get fit by a pro, because its all about the shaft. I notice a couple of you have Reg. flex woods and stiff irons. Did someone suggest that to you? Trying to hit the 67's as a 10 handicap might be pushing the fine line before major frustration sets in. There should not be that big of a gap from one forged iron to the next, assuming you get the right shaft for the head.

Distance is less from MP-67s compared to my DCIs. Longer distance loss in longer irons, and maybe about 4-6 yards in the short irons. Wouldn't have anything else to compare them to.

Two theories: one is the lofts are weaker with every club, that should account for most of the difference.

Theory two: slight miss-hits will end up slightly shorter, because ball speed is lower.

I'm clearly at the high end of the handicap scale for these clubs, but I won't switch. These clubs give me tremendous confidence that I can make the shots I need to make. That's worth enough to me to keep playing them. Now if I could just PUTT BETTER!!!

Ive been playing my Titleist 690.MB forged blades for 5 years and I would not even consider putting anything else in my bag, but maybe the MP67. I demo'd them also and I seriously think it's the increased loft and just make sure youre fitted. I had my 690's bent to match the lofts of most of the other models out there and it worked perfectly. The MP67's are very solid irons and their consistency is everything you need out of an iron.

Oh I know. I have never hit anything quite as responsive as these are but I feel as if I am a good ball striker and if I hit these sid by side with an r7tp both with the same shaft these are almost a full club shorter. It's weird I guess I will just bend the lofts a bit to what I am accustemed to. Thanks guys

I wouldn't be suprised if the TM irons are bent stronger than usual, I know they do that with their Burner irons. It's a false sense of distance, in a way. Kinda like sticking a 7 iron label on a true 6 iron.

Yeah, you'll notice that drop with blades. As an alternative to getting them bent, you could simply club up and choke up a 1/2 inch. I lost about 7-8 yards per iron after losing the cavity backs and going to blades. For me the loss was acceptable since it brought the gap in yardage between my PW and GW from ~20 to around 12.

The blades sure feel NICE though. Easy to produce a slight fade, a straight shot and a smooth draw. I find golf is much more fun when played with creativity.

They are strong except in the Tour prefferds and the TP MBs.

It's odd cuz from the 60 to the mp32 I lost zero distance. So I dunno it's a bit odd. Ah well I figure I add my 50 vokey and bend pw to 46 and be done with it LOL

    • Day 3 (3 May 25) - played 18 (went solo) this afternoon at one of sister courses to my regular course.  Went with the three tee box format (Golld-White-Red as this adds a mix to the “I always play this club as my approach on this hole” routine).  The front presented issues as  the greens are suffering from the heat and lack of rain.  Add in 15-20 mph gusty winds and it’s not a walk in the park. It really made the approach reads a little hard to figure out - of the 3 pars on the front, two were GIR, the other a nGIR.  The rest were coming up short and that meant a lot of two putt bogies and a big old dbl- managed a 43.  The back greens are not suffering as bad and were more receptive to rolls of the rock. Finished that side with a two over 37 (par 35) that included 6 GIR that resulted in 5 para and 1 birdie, the other 3 were two putt bogies.  Was a good test of course management and not being afraid to club up or down.
    • Day 287: range session today. Worked on my drill with the wrist turn, also trying to get my hips moving more. Looking a little better. Then went and worked on putts inside 10 feet for about 20 minutes.
    • Day 12: Kentucky Derby Day Hit the range for about 30 minutes before it started to rain pretty hard. Good session!
    • Day 215 - 2025-05-03 Hit some balls at Downback. 🙂 @NatalieB is a college graduate now.
    • Purchased a new set of Ping G410 irons with True Temper XP 95 (R300) steel shafts (4-PW) at a good price. Had moved to graphite shafts many years ago (spanning various irons sets from Titleist, TaylorMade and Mizuno) thinking they would be appreciably lighter to help my slower swing speed. My weekend golf partners told me to quickly re-shaft the Pings to graphite. I must admit: (1) these clubs feel as light as any graphite shafts (2) I am hitting these irons the purest I have ever experienced in an iron (3) they fly straight!  Just looking for reinforcement to stick with the steel shafts.
