Going to try and break 40 tomorrow

So I'm playing my local executive course. And for my life I can't break 40 on the front side. I've shot in the 80's on regulation courses a couple of times but something about this course's front nine eats my lunch.

Any one else have some sort of goal of the same nature or course/hole that is your nemesis?

I have the same problem with a local course here! The front 9 has been working me! I don't know what the deal is. There is actually an Indian Burial ground on the course, so maybe there is a curse out there or something. Ha.

I think it's a bad idea to try to shoot any score on any hole or over the course of a round. Just go out and play as well as you can, and who knows, but you could break 40. If you try to shoot under 40, then you'll just be adding pressure.

I shot a 39 the other day at a course that I've never broken 43. That was a very satisfying feeling, but I never thought about shooting under a certain score; I just played.

I totally agree with your point. However by trying tomorrow to break 40 I mean I will be hitting 3-wood/3-iron on holes I would normally pull out driver etc... I'm going to play smart golf tomorrow.
