Handicapping

I've never heard this before but I was told by some women golfers that when they play from the men's or back tees they have to refigure the course ratings & slope for women.
I thought is was determine by the distance from the tee box and difficulty from the tee to green.
Have not found anything yet if there right.

doesn't matter if you man or a woman - you have an index. Every set of tees (they're not really gender oriented ) or you can say - every color of tees has a set of rating / slope numbers associated with them. Whatever your index is will be applied to the course rating/slope and give you a handicap for the course/tee combination.

Thanks.. 67, 70 and 72 within a week will do that

too bad in my first "big" tournament (MGA Pub Links) all I managed was a stinky 80
