I have generally had the nike sneaker type golf shoes.

When I had white ones I'd throw them in the washing machine every couple weeks (5-6 rounds)

I bought black ones so I dont have to go through that process anymore.

If their muddy or have pollen all over them ill give them a quick wipe with a wet cloth. Besides that, i really dont clean my shoes much.

Yep.

bang em off against each other and throw em in the trunk of the car

If their is mud or grass on the bottom.

if there was a

I need the option " I never clean them" They are shoes....just so they work i dont worry about them

My thoughts exactly. I don't think I have ever given a thought to cleaning golf shoes. If they get dirty, they will stay that way until I play in the rain or throw them out.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

I clean my shoes after each round because it prevents build up around the spikes which can be hard to remove after it settles. It doesn't have to be a thorough wash, but simply gettin the majority of grass, dirt, etc. off of the bottoms will increase the life of the spikes. Hope this helps!

I at least brush the grass and gunk off the bottom of the shoes after every round. They say the worst thing for shoes is to keep them in your trunk, especially if they were wet. So I hang them in the garage to make sure they dry out before the next time I play.

Also, I have a couple of pair and I rotate them when playing, they seem to last much longer, I have 2 pair that are at least 6 years old and are still waterproof.

a key to keeping your shoes in good condition is using a wooden shoe tree. The wooden shoe tree will help absorb the perspiration from the shoes and at the same time keep the form of the shoe.

If your shoes leak after a couple of years and you can not return it under warranty, I have used WD-40 around the seam and it help keep the water out.

    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
