I have been playing with cheap Walmart Beta TI golf balls as I have a high handicap and have been losing balls left and right (well mostly right ). I have been getting better at my game, broke 100 a week ago and have improved my ball striking although my improved short game is what saved me. I want to upgrade to better ball. What do you guys suggest?

What is a good ball that is under $25 for a dozen? I still have control issues and have been trying to improve a slice should I stay with a ball that has less spin? I have been working on my short game and the cheap balls I have been playing with are starting to feel too hard and don't spin much around the greens. Any suggestions? I have been thinking of trying the Topflight D2 Feel or the D2 straight.

You may also want to check online for used, experienced, practice, logo overruns, or x-outs balls. You might be able to get more bang for the buck and use a ball you might not otherwise want to pay for. If you play a bunch and lose quite a few it might be more economical to get 3 dozen better balls for $60-65, rather then go to Wal-Mart and spend $25 every couple of weeks on a dozen of something that you don't think will help your game.

As for the type, I have heard good things about the mid-tier Bridgestone line (E-6, E-7, etc.), and the Titleist NXT line is a good ball. There are a host of others in that $25-30 range that will all play pretty similar. You might be able to knock the price down a little by getting the used balls in bulk.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

I just ordered some AAA quality USED balls from http://www.lostgolfballs.com/ they have great balls for like 5-15$ for a dozen. They also have free shipping going on right now so its a great deal IMO. Code per other thread : BESTGOLFER7

Noodle+ and Top-Flite Gamer appear to be the two most highly recommended budget balls around here.

I went from Slazenger Raw Distance Feels to Noodle+s and am very happy.

I picked up some of the Taylor Made TP Blacks for 2 dozen/$55 which is a pretty good deal and I really like the balls. Once those run out I'll probably give the Top Flite Gamer a try as I've heard so many good things about them.

Would you considered used/recycled golf balls? If your losing golf balls and need some to practice going in that direction is great. Try out some AAA and AAAA golf balls and see how you like them. They can be had for very cheap, I got my NXT Tours for like $5/dozen.

Go out and pick up a dozen Bridgestone e6+. It is designed to take sideways spin off the ball. I really like them.

The D2 Feel is not bad at all, IMO - esspecially for the price. I didn't like the D2 Straight as well. Srixon Soft Feel and AD333 and Pinnacle Platinum Feel are also pretty good inexpensive balls. And of course the Gamer - I haven't played it yet, but I've heard nothing but good things about it.

The Srixon's rock, and they're cheap as well.
