Is it really worth it to drop a ton of money on a shaft when I can find a cheaper one that fits me? (driver, 3 wood).

How about shaft launch vs loft? Do I need to match a low launch shaft with a low loft head or can I mix a LL shaft with a HL head or vice versa?

Tell me about kickpoints. Adavanages to different ones?

For my irons, what is the best way to go? I plan on getting a new set of irons sometime within the year. Gonna purchase new, ordered totally custom to my specs. What is a good shaft? I'm thinking Rifle brand over TT. Rifles? Flighted? PX? PXF?

Wedges. Do I go with a special wedge shaft? Do I match it to my irons to be consistent?

I'm certainly not an expert but I would say get fit for it. For the irons I am using Project x 5.5's and i like the flight. I think the DG feel (s300 compared to PX 5.5) better and seem to fell less stiff but I think that is because the PX's have a stiffer but section. For your driver, I believe the long hitters with high spin use less loft and a higher launching shaft to gain high launch but low spin.(could be wrong though). At the moment I am swinging easier and am thinking about going to 10.5* or even like 11.5* of loft as I really want to maximise carry as I am hitting a low ball at the moment. In terms of head, The 909d2 is a good head for me. There also is the cool aspect of the fitting cart as it lets you hit a plethora of shafts.
Low kickpoint will give higher flight, high kickpoint lower flight. Also take into torque in effect, that is also really important.

But yeah, Get fit.

There is so many options. I do not think that the exotic shafts are worth the extra money. A good club fitter can make it happen for you. They can tell you which shafts would be best based on data as well as your swing tempo, misses, and how well you load the shaft. All the iron shafts are good. It is all preference. I like the TTDG SLs because of the lighter weight. I like my current shafts too but the extra 20 grams per shaft seems to make them feel heavy. But I am not in a position to make any changes and I iron play has been improving so I hope to get more consistant.

I also really like UST graphite shafts.

no its not worth it. if a cheaper shaft fits your swing, thats all that matters.
