Probably not what you want to hear, but you might be better off switching to a different style of putter.

I've recently had a putter fitting with SAM analysis. I had a Spider but it turned out it was far from suitable, so I ended up getitng something else and selling the spider.

wow!! i have also got an odyssey 2 ball blade but like the feel of the spider!! only reason i asked was that i was told i needed a heel weighted putter cos of my stroke and the odyssey is a face balanced one!! what did you get instead? And can anyone recommend a heel weighted one then? thinking of scotty squareback!!

When I played golf for 3 months, I was able to take it straight back and straight through.
It's really not that difficult, just pay attention to it for a couple of times. And one more thing, one of the reasons why I like forums is that it's good for my English. So please check your grammar, as you ARE from the UK.

I ended up with a Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 1.5.

Funny thing is I'd always used mallet style putters up to this point. The other interesting point was that at the fitting I holed pretty much everything with all the putters I tried, but the computer analysis showed the swing wasn't consistent with most of the putters. Obviously I was able to compensate during the fitting, but under pressure I might not have got away with it.

DriverTees: Straight back straight through isn't the only way to putt, so not everyone should try and do this.
Two more things; perhaps you should check your manners and 'And' cannot be used to start a sentence - bad grammar!

    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
    • Day 1 - 2025-12-20 Starting a new streak, of at least 1. With rain dumping for the next week in the north bay area, I'll be a lot of outdoor net work and maybe some putting. About 10 minutes of 7 iron work, focused on the usuals: weight transfer, keeping hands behind me. I'll have more time in the coming days for video review and maybe some Hack Motion.
