So I got my very first Taylormade product last week. I snagged an r7 Limited. I took it out to the range last week and my fade is still there (as expected). I switched it to a full draw setup and played in a scramble tournament Friday. Now I'm drawing it. Does anyone know of a different Moving Weight Technology (MWT) configuration that promotes a slight draw, as opposed to a full draw?

Here are the standard configurations:
Full Fade: Heel = 1 gram, Back = 1 gram, Toe = 16 gram
Nuetral: Heel = 1 gram, Back = 16 gram, Toe = 1 gram
Full Draw: Heel = 16 gram, Back = 1 gram, Toe = 1 gram

I'm an engineer by trade, so I think technically. I would imagine that there are configurations inbetween. Without any guidance, I suppose the first configuration I'd try would be this one.

Slight Draw: Heel = 12 gram, Back = 2 gram, Toe = 4 gram

Of course, I'd have to purchase the three swing weights, or buy the kit. Anyone out there have any ideas? Does the total weight have to equal 18 grams? I wrote to Taylormade asking them this question, but so far I've received no reply.

To maintain the same swingweight it does. If you don't mind changing the swingweight, you can put whatever weights in there that you want. It'll change the way the shaft reacts, too.

Ok, that makes sense. But if I go to a weight configuration that's heavier or lighter, will the club still meet USGA requirements?

I had the R7 CGB Max weight setup 1-16-1. Tried putting 10g weights on the outer edges. I liked the feel of impact but I actually lost distance due to the added weight. I don't really know if its due to the light shaft reacting to the heavier swing weight. Don't get too caught up in changing the weights and work on your swing. I was able to draw it with a 1-1-16 setup and fade it with a 16-1-1 setup.

    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
    • Day 1 - 2025-12-20 Starting a new streak, of at least 1. With rain dumping for the next week in the north bay area, I'll be a lot of outdoor net work and maybe some putting. About 10 minutes of 7 iron work, focused on the usuals: weight transfer, keeping hands behind me. I'll have more time in the coming days for video review and maybe some Hack Motion.
