Anyone use stiffer shafts in their short irons versus their long irons?

i once heard that say you bought a set the lower irons are stiffer to promote accuracy over distance,i think its true cause they are the same shaft but short irons are shorter=stiffer just my .02 though

I have contemplated this, but I'm not going to do it anytime soon. I'm closer to the regular flex end of the "transition area," and am sticking with regular flex. In a year or so, I'll want to replace the lower end of my bag, and I will consider doing so with stiffer shafts.

Nicklaus suggested this in one of his books. The argument is that the shorter clubs are built for accuracy, and so distance with them isn't the critical issue. By contrast, you need length with your longer clubs, even at the expense of some accuracy (presumably within reason). I'll find the book and reference at some point if you're interested.
