As you can see I use a 07 Burner and as yall know the new R9 460 just came out a few months after the regular R9. Has anyone used all three and how do they compare? Does the new FCT- Flight Control Technology (on all R9's) and the MWT - Moveable Weight Technology (only on the TP versions) really help and make alot of difference?

Caddy, did you notice if the club lengths the same on all three drivers?

I know this has no reference on my question but what I am looking for is the ability to increase the loft on demand. Have you talked to your friend about those capabilities?

i also played a buddies r9 460, i didnt notice the shaft length. i do believe you can change the loft up to 2 degrees on it though.

I can't compare it to other TM drivers, as this is my first (I swore I would never use TMs, now I am eating my words). However, in comparison to my previous driver, a 905R with Ozik 6 shaft, I get nearly 10 more yards (242 avg. vs. 251 now) and a higher ball flight. By the way, I use the neutral upright setting and have completely elminated the right side. I messed around with the open setting to shape my shots, but it is not really conducive to my course. And the longer shaft actually helped me slow my swing more to get longer distance and more accuracy... don't know how that works, but I have more control now.

Bottom line, I like this driver :)

The R9 and R9 460 probably both have the same shaft lengths, although the shafts are different brands. They are both shorter than the Burner's shaft though

I tried an R9 and an 09 Burner and TP 09 Burner at a local club during a Taylormade day's. I hit the R9 better than my 07 Burner and allot better than the TP 09 Burner, but the standard stiff shaft Burner for me was the best, I could acutally draw the ball with it as the TP has an open face, I couldn't change much on the R9 to see with a closed face how it would do over a neautral face set up, (Tee Time) but all in all I just purchased an 09 Burner to replace my 07, and yes the Burner's have a shaft that is 1" longer, is what I was told

I have been a Titleist loyalist for a long time but the week before the Colonial had the opportunity to visit the TaylorMade Tour Van and got an R9... 9.5 degrees, Diamana Blue 63 S shaft... I love it... Took the 909D2 that I purchased a couple of weeks before out of my bag and haven't looked back... I haven't even tried to adjust the clubhead, just used it in the neutral position... I am hitting it at least 10 yards longer than the 909D2... Very workable, solid feel... It just sets up right for me.
