Sometimes it's tough dealing with people offering unsolicited advice!

Last year I was on the range and working on a very specific move in my swing so I wasn't actually hitting any kind of normal shot, I can't even remember what it was but this older guy comes up to me and say's "You have a nice swing but If you would cock your wrist just a little more on your backswing you would hit it better"! Not that I was irritated, but the drill I was working on I was well aware that I wasn't cocking my wrists,,lol. So I just give the guy a nod and probably a look like he was a alien and attempted to go back to what I was working on, but I guess he wasn't happy that I didn't acknowledge his keen sense of swing theory,,lol! So he actually starts to get a little pissy with me and say's "Well I'm just trying to help, we are all out here trying to get better and help each other"! Now I am starting to get irritated, and I tell the guy thanks for the advice but there is only one person that I talk to about my golf swing and that is my brother! Then I explain to him I was working on a specific drill but thanks again for the advice! He finally walked away, but it was a strange encounter.

But the good news is I've seen him at that range on and off for a year and he will not talk to me,,,lol! Now I can practice in peace!

I have played a muni one time that had a "NO UNSOLICITED LESSONS" sign posted on the first tee.

It seems no matter where or what sport there are going to be people like that.

Great post.

I am totally against changing big parts of my swing mid round and I won't do it. IMO you have to work with what you have that day. That's not to say that if you suddenly notice that you're fanning the clubface open too much that you shouldn't make an attempt to fix it with some practice swings during the round to get the feel back, but IMO most attempts to change larger parts of the swing during a round ends in nothing but disaster.

If you're not comfortable with the motion you're making and when standing over the ball you're not going to play well, I don't care if your swing suddenly matches Tiger's swing to a T.

Wow! This sounds like another case of "free" advice being worth ten times what you paid for it.
