Hey guys got a question, i'm 37 in great shape, i have 2 hybrids 21 and 24 g10 hybrids. They have taken the place of the 3 iron and 4 iron. Now i'm thinking of dropping the 5 iron in place of a hybrid, and the reason i'm thinking this is because it's soooooo easy to hit these clubs. Am i getting a little out of hand with this club? I see all other players i play with only have 1 club. Let me hear your thoughts please.

How well do you hit your 5 iron?

Carl Spackler: This is a hybrid. This is a cross of Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia. The amazing stuff...

Hit what you like to hit. If you're more comfortable with a 5H than a 5I then by all means hit it.

My thoughts are that I see other guys playing drivers with 8 deg loft, x-stiff shafts, but that doesn't make me think I should be playing one. I choose my equipment to fit my game. In other words, pick what works for you and don't worry about what's in someone else's bag. 3 hybrids = OK.

I love mine. Nike makes a 30 degree and a 34 degree Sumo^2. I've seriously consider putting those in my bag too, but I hit my 6 and 7 irons pretty well and I doubt I'd get as much benefit out of them as I do with the longer irons. If I had more money than I knew what to do with though I'd buy a 13 degree "strong" Dymo^2 3 wood, remove my LW (which I rarely hit), and add the 17 degree Sumo^2 hybrid.

Don't worry about opinion. Hit what you hit well. It doesn't matter how you get it there as long as you get it there.

Sometimes I will take out driver on a long par 3 and people think I am crazy. Then I just play a nice little cut and put on and they shut up real quick.

In my bag:
Driver: R5 TP Diamana 83s Shaft
Fairway: Burner 15 degree Fujikura REAX
Hybrid: Custom 19 degree
Irons: DCI 990 S300 4-PW

Wedges: NF 52.04*, Spin Milled 56.10* and 60.08*

Putter: Red X3

Ball: ProV1

Shoe: Tour 360 LTD
