Ok, so I hit my 3 wood quite bad. I am a pretty small guy, so I think it might be the length. If I got a low lofted hybrid, would I still not be able to hit it that well because of the loft, or would it be easier because it's shorter?

A quote from Kris
...is that college bball really isn't "lower tier". The better teams have their rosters filled with guys who could play in the NBA. hell, guys used to come straight from high school to the NBA. I really don't think there's much of a difference skill-wise between the two.

Yeah, I hit it a little bit better, about 20% better. But, my bad shots seem to be even worse <.<

Um, it depends? You swing the hybrid like an iron, 3 wood more a sweeping motion. So I guess it depends on well you hit your irons.

Also, most hybrids are 40" or so, where 3 woods can range from 40"-45" so it should, in theory, be shorter.

If you like your 3 wood though, maybe just get that shortened?

Yeah, I am thinking about which one would be better. I think I might get a hybrid because I hit my irons/hybrids pretty good already.

Like said, if you hit your irons well, go with a lower lofted hybrid.

Go get the 3 wood cut down...Fairly inexpensive thing to do. With a new grip and everything it should be about 15 bucks at most.

I got mine cut down an inch, and wow, what a difference. Much, much more control and really didn't sacrifice much distance, maybe 5 yards at the most.

All three are cut down:
My driver (-1.5")
My 3 wood (-1")
and My 19* hybrid (-1")

Really, really helped me a lot as I'm pretty short (5'7").
