Finally pulled the trigger on a hybrid

I got my new irons a few weeks ago and have spent some time discovering what kind of gap I have between my driver, aging fairway woods, and my 4 iron. I've been hitting my driver a pretty consistent 230-240 yards, 3 wood around 210, and 5 wood around 190. Then my 24* 4 iron comes in at around 175, leaving quite a gap to fill.

After hitting several options I finally decided on the Ping G10 21* hybrid, which works out nicely seeing that I have the G10 driver and irons. Hopefully it'll be in later this week, so I can use it if I get to play a few holes this weekend.

I feel it is, especially considering the distance I listed for my 4 iron is probably my max range with that club, and that the fairway woods could go longer than listed on a good roll. I'm also more likely to hit the hybrid well from the rough than I am the 4 iron.

That's what I get for getting knockoff clubs. My hybrid doesn't have a trigger!

That's quite a nice set you have assembled, my brother has the 18* g10 hybrid and hits it very well. All you need to do now is replace your 'aging' fairway woods, Ping make some nice fairway woods to match your set.

I'd like to replace them before the end of the year, but I still have some thinking to do. I'm considering just using one fairway wood since I don't hit the 3 all that well, but don't quite know if I would want a 4 or 5. A lot depends on how I hit an updated wood and the type of distance I get out of them. I have heard a lot of great things about the G10 woods though.

You could do with a 4 wood or if you like your 21º then maybe replace your woods with the 18º hybrid.

If your not too reliable with fairway woods you could demo the 15* g10 hybrid, that would probably be similar in distance to a 4 wood, just a thought.
