Currently my bag only consists of 13 clubs. Along with my driver I'm only carrying a 5w and a 19⁰ hybrid. This is a setup I've gotten very comfortable with. I could never hit my 3w as consistent as my 5w so I just left it out. I carry a 4 iron though PW, along with 52⁰ and 58⁰ wedges. I used to have a 3-wedge setup (52⁰, 56⁰, 60⁰) but they were pretty crappy and I never took the time to nail down my distances.

The only area I feel I could expand upon would be adding a higher lofted hybrid club (perhaps a 21⁰ or 22⁰) or going back to a 3-wedge setup. Thoughts?

You're going to hear this a lot: where are your distance gaps? But you did begin to address that.

You have a 4 degree gap between your PW (48° if your -67s are standard loft for the set) and your GW, and then 6 degrees for your 58. Assuming you're comfortable from your 52 on into the green, I see no need to switch to 4 wedges at the moment.

My suggestion is to consider a 22 or 23 degree hybrid. It won't necessarily replace your 4-iron, but it will provide an alternate shot for when you're far away and in the rough, or for when you need to hit it high, or for days when your iron striking isn't so hot. And there might be a distance gap between your 4-iron ( 25°) and your hybrid (19°).

Also, as long as you're considering purchasing one or more clubs, find out if there is a distance gap between your 5W and your hybrid. You might want to replace, or even supplement, your 5W with a 4W, if a gap exists.

Finally, do you have a backup driver? Some consider their 3W to be this; for you, it might be your 5W or hybrid. I don't much care for hitting a 3W either, except off a tee. It's one of those clubs where the lie has to be just about perfect for me to consider hitting it. But it's worth having something in the bag that you can use to get the ball a reasonable distance off the tee and into the fairway.

I just recently replaced my 4 iron with 4 hybrid but could use both in the bag. I use the 4 hybrid out of the rough and fairway bunker. Would prefer to use the 4 iron off the deck or tee but I try to minimize the clubs I carry. Try a 22-23 hybrid and see how that works out for you.

If you are a long hitter I would recommend getting a 62* wedge because it gives you the chance to hit a full wedge instead of a half 58* which I find hard to do. If I were you I would only do this if you find your self hitting a good amount of half lob wedges and dont feel comfortable with with these kinds of shots. Other wise a 22* or 23* hybrid would be the next best choice.

I can hit my 58° a good 80 yards. I do have a bit of trouble whenever I've found myself a good 30-40 yards short of the green, however I think a 22°/23° hybrid would be more useful. Thanks for all the input, time to go demo a few and see what kind of distance I'm getting out of that type of club.

Definitely try out the Adams Idea Pro (Gold). If your on a budget, also try the Nickent 3DX Ironwood which is much more affordable.
