On an impulse buy on ebay, I bid and won on a Scotty putter on my cell phone and found out after winning the item, I found out that the putter was actually a belly putter.

Does anyone know how much it would cost to reshaft and regrip the putter?

Is there any way of getting out of this?

I don't know to much about this, but you couldn't you just cut the shaft after the original grip?

A quote from Kris
...is that college bball really isn't "lower tier". The better teams have their rosters filled with guys who could play in the NBA. hell, guys used to come straight from high school to the NBA. I really don't think there's much of a difference skill-wise between the two.

I don't know much about it either. I will be giong to a golf shop in a little bit and inquire there.

The seller had gotten it as a conventional putter and changed it to a belly putter. It doesn't have the original grip, so I would like to put a new SC grip on as well, but that's a good point. I think they should be able to just cut it down.

Just wondering what the price may be...

As far as I know belly putters have regular shafts with an extended grip. I would imagine it would just be a grip change....labor + price of grip, would not cost you more than 10-15$ probably

I'm assuming there is a cost associated with cutting the shaft too, is there not?

Try talking with the seller and see if they will work something out with you. Maybe they have another Scotty Cameron putter that is what you are looking for. Belly putter, If I am not mistaken cost more than the regular length putters, so the seller maybe willing to work something out with you. Its your mistake and admit to it and the seller might have compassion for you, so it does not hurt to pull a hair nose so that it makes you cry a little when you talk to the seller.

Aren't the heads of belly putters quite a bit differently weighted than regular-length putters? After all, it's 20g difference between 33 and 35 inches, so what is it between 35 and, say, 40?

If they're different it would argue against cutting the shaft down.

I know SC adds weights to their putters depending on the length. That may be your biggest issue. You may like it just as much.

As I stated in my previous post, the putter was originally a regular putter and not a belly putter. The seller had changed it to a belly so I'm not too worried about the weight. I checked it out and it would cost me $33 to get a sc grip and get the shaft cut down.

I bought a belly putter to try and did not like it. I loved the head, but was uncomfortable with the length. I took and determined the comfortable shaft length for me, marked it with tape. I then cut the shaft with a pipe/tube cutter. I purchased a new putter grip and installed it. Been using it for 2 years now. It was very simple.

Hope it helps
