Any website out there where you can buy quality balls by the sleeve? Or is my only option to buy from the pro shops?

Posted
Ive only seen the option to buy by the sleeve in proshops. Why would you want to order a sleeve of balls over the internet, anyway? Just buy a dozen, then....

I don't understand why you would order just a sleeve. Maybe if you wanted to just try a sleeve but just a dozen bro.

Well I would be ordering multiple sleeves like 4-5. I want to try out different kinds of balls. I dont want to have to put down money for 4-5 dozen balls and turn out I dont like them.

Maybe he's trying to test out some new balls and buying a dozen decent balls for 40 bucks and not liking them at all isn't that appealing. If thats the case try buying them used and see if theres a sampler pack.

Maybe he wants to try out a bunch of different balls and is thinking about ordering several sleeves at the same time?

I love TST because people don't often get their questions answered but instead get ripped for asking. My favorites are usually the "How can I work the ball off the tee with my driver?" questions that are always answered with "You're a 25 handicap, WORK ON YOUR SHORT GAME YOU HACKER!!!" As for this guy and his quest for sleeves of balls online, I've only seen that on eBay and a lot of them are used.

Also i dont know if you have thought of this but sometimes I can go to the local used sporting goods store and find some decent balls for cheap. NOT ALL have been sitting in the water and have no bounce to them.

Wow great find. Now that I think about it this is not a bad idea. Playing some top name top quality golf balls to see what you like. I happy to say one of the balls I like the best are some cheap titleist named ball from Wal Mart I think. Titleist HP2 is the name.

I actually buy my PRO V by the sleeve if I don't use the "practice" ones from TGW. They are not that much higher than by the dozen. The only reason I did this was for a tournement and then I won some gift certificates to the pro shop so I got another sleeve.

TGW has a few, particularly the Nike and Wilson Zips. However, nothing like paying $6 shipping for a sleeve of balls that cost $4.

I was looking to to do the same thing - purchase about 3-4 sleeves of new balls from different mfrs to try them out. What I found out was that 1) sleeves were generally not available unless buying from the the pro shop, and 2) when available, or even buying them from the pro shop, the cost was too prohibitive.

$20 for a sleeve of pro v1s? heh, y'all must be crazy! Bought a dozen '09 v1xs, new for $35. I'll be getting a dozen callaway tour ix next for comparison. I also picked up a dozen Bridgestone 330RX. What I don't like I just give to my sister or my father.

I have seen items on eBay where they mix balls for us to test. I think they were used ones, might find new ones too.

We have a Golf Galaxy and a Golf Discount in town, they sell balls by the sleeve. Also, I searched eBay, bought a couple of sleeves that way for testing. I did find that if you want to test balls, use new balls, if you try to buy an assorted mix of used balls they don't seem to perform the same, IMHO.

Yeah, wanna make 14 dollars the hard way?

Bought a sleeve of Callaway Tour ix tonight at GG for $11.99. My dozen of Pro V1x and R330x are scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. Between the three, I hope I find a ball I like.

GG said they don't sell every ball by the sleeve though, only ones that scan individually by separate bar codes. I dunno. They also have a 6 pack of Bridgestone where you get 2 300-Rx, 2 330 and 2 330-s for $19.99. Not bad. Prolly would have done that if I hadn't gotten the dozen RX. Oh well.
