Well, my sand wedge is from the 80s or 90s and was wondering if I should consider upgrading it. How do you tell when to replace your wedges? I wanted to a 55* sand wedge, does anyone make them?

Its all a matter of how much its used, and how much you want the new tech. I don't know how you could have a wedge that long and still have it spin the amount that it needs too. Modern sandwedges have much bigger grooves, and are easier to hit out of the sand... and you can get a really nice one at a pretty good price. You can tune almost any wedge to any degree now a days with bending, so thats not a big problem.

Yeah, that's why I thought about replacing it. I tried my cousins new sand wedge and thought that I might be losing some spin due to age. I might just get an Adams PVD wedge set, I found some for real cheap.

You should replace your wedge every 2 years if you are playing moderately. Look on ebay for the wedge you like, the prices are great and you will be guarenteed to find something you like

Yeah, I agree. For someone who plays a lot like me I replace it every year.

As I'm sure you already know, if your grooves are really worn out it's time to get some new wedges.
