I have a quick question about my handicap. I have a GHIN and have put in about 7 rounds of golf into the computer. I was told that after 5 rounds I would have a Handicap. What is going on?

I think I figured it out. I haven't passed a revision date yet. 8/1 is the next day. I got my GHIN on the last revision date, 7/15. Is this why?

That should be why, but I just re-upped my handicap after letting it lapse in 2008, and I'm having some trouble.

I got my GHIN account from the course I usually play on July 9. I entered the previous 8 rounds I had played this year plus the round I played that day for a total of 9 rounds. On July 22, the day of Massachusetts' revision, I entered another 5 scores. When I check online, it only shows the first 9 rounds. Fine, so I missed the revision cutoff then other 5 rounds. But my handicap is still listed as NH.

Most likely.

Is your handicap accurate and other than NH when viewing from your home course computer?

Could be a matter of transmission frequency, from the local computer to the GHIN servers. Our home club synchronizes hourly, but I've seen other clubs do it weekly or only on revision dates.

    • I appreciate that you have taken the time to come back and update. Based on what was previously discussed I feel like the points were; forged, feel good, price, and possibly players distance. If you like the "looks" of those Maxfli irons and if price is a major point, then going straight to the source, Maltby, might make sense. Specifically, the TS3 iron. I was looking into this myself and found some reviews: Fit2YouGolf, Lets Play Thru, and ELITE FIT GOLF. As per your update I found the Maxfli to be ~$1300 fitted the way I wanted. Where the TS3 with the same fitting and assembled by Golfworks was less than $750. I suppose the downside is to actually hit the iron you will need to get lucky and find someone in your golf circle who will let you hit theirs or order a 6 or 7 iron to test. However, the way I look at that is being equivalent to some fittings. If you like the results and buy, then the fitting is free, otherwise the price of the fitting is a sunk cost. If name brand is important, then I submit for your consideration - THE BEST OVERALL IRON of 2024...... FACT !! 😉 A bit tongue in cheek that but also, I feel some good points were discussed.
    • Day 150 1-10 focus on arching the wrist and getting the ball to go left. Recorded, hit foam balls.
    • Day 467 - 2026-01-10 Practiced at Pinehurst every day I was there, and before Junior Elite this morning I got fifteen minutes of backswing checks in the mirror in.
