Don't let the game beat you. Take a week off, chill out, watch some Golf Channel and see if you can figure out what's wrong on your own. If you go out to the range, don't get mad and work on your fundamentals. We all reach that point in our game where we think "maybe I should just quit, I'm not getting any better" but, like someone already said it's a sign of a big break-out coming up. Just stick with it and enjoy the game..

I fixed it. I was releasing really early, and trying to hit the ball rather than swing through it. But I started "slapping" the ball with my left hand, like I used to do but forgot about, and I'm back to my normal swing. I am absolutely exstatic(spelling?) right now.

just take some time off (a few days, a week, whatever) but don't quit altogether. I went through something like this a few weeks back and was actually quite embarrassed while trying to hit balls at the range. i was shanking my 56* wedge... cmon, whats worse than that?

It happens to the best of us (well, not the BEST of us but you know what i mean).

Nice. False alarm, I guess. Good choice, sticking with it.

Nine times out of ten golfers try to hit the ball farther than they can and get frustrated.

Play one extra club till you start going over greens.  Your game will return I bet on it.

Best of luck golfer.

When your get in a slump like that. Try swinging the club as hard as you can. Like a normal swing but a full swing. As fast and hard as you can. Speed more than strength. Then take full swings as slow as you can. Very slow motion. Feel the club. Feel the  head. Your body as to get back on track with the club head that’s all.
Then take long pitch shots. Grab your 6 iron and hit a 130 or 140 yard pitch shot. Half swing. Gradually get it back. It will come back.

    • I wonder if that is why my home course basically have no stakes now.  Not even markers.  It’s completely up to golfers to remember what is OB and hazard and how things used to be marked.     Even in tournaments, there is no marking and certain areas are played differently by different golfers who either don’t know better or use it to their advantage funny reading thru this with courses that actually have markers
    • is it though?????? "Millions of fans"?????
    • Great post, thanks for the informaiton. I try to avoid adding salt to anything I eat. I tend to add pepper on to my meals as opposed to salt. And I am trying to eat as clean on possible. On golf day, I eat 3 eggs for breakfast (pepper NO salt) and a salad for lunch, with grilled chicken thigs (pepper, garlic, no salt). I have been trying to avoid processed food, but we all slip. I also should have mentioned that the electrolyte packet calls for mixing with 16 oz of water, however I mix in 32 oz of water, so I dilute the electrolyte powder.
    • So if I read the news correctly, the PIF will not fund LIV after this season.  LIV is trying to find new funding and a number of players there are now asking about getting back to the Tour.    I am very, very concerned that Taylor Gooch will not have a place where he can make a jackass out of himself soon
    • It is a known technique, similar to the armed forces box technique. They use a 4x4 , in through the nose and out through the mouth. I use it to go to sleep fairly often. It works for me
