I got mine this week. They are long. Way long. Previously I hit my 9 about 120-125yds. With the burner it's 145-150. I was expecting about a one club length adjustment but this is almost 2 clubs. Changed over from old PingEye 2. I've also switched from regular to stiff shafts so I'm certain that has something to do with it as well. My biggest worry is 110 and in. The AW hits about 110 so I'll be playing more half and 3/4 power shots than I ever have before....and those are not my strength at all. I have a bad tendency to decelerate on those. We'll see...

I got mine a week and a half ago and love them. For me, the biggest adjustment was the length of the shafts. But I'm adjusting. Plus, new clubs always feel so different, etc and it takes some shots to break them in.

But so far I don't have any complaints.

They really purr when I strike it decently. Very easy swings produce pretty good length and very straight shots.

Not trying to hurt your self esteem but did you check the lofts? These TM's might be 2* stronger than your pings.

So? What does that matter? The fact of the matter is at the end of the day he is still hitting his irons further.

The Burner Irons are absolutely incredible.. If anyone ahs the money for them I'd recommend them. I want them so bad.

that could be the case...but when I've hit them so far...they don't seem to have any lower trajectory..actually the ball flight seems a little higher.

thats thats suppose to happen.. lol

If you compare 6 iron to 6 iron, they are longer. If you compare clubs by their specifications, loft and length, they are similar.

We are talking the new Burner 09 irons right? And how much did they set you back. I have been using my Ping Zing 2's for years and I like them but I am moving toward the burner now. I have hit them several times and like the way they feel.

I played my first round with them today. Great investment in my game. I hit 9 greens and shot 81 which was my best round ever on my home course. My previous best was 86. My course management was easier as I had a couple of tough tee shots made easier by being able to use an easier to hit iron than previously. I also did really well with my new 9.5 burner, 3W and 5W...which I replaced Reg flex clubs for stiff. If I could putt, I would have easily shot a mid 70. I didn't putt terribly..doing better with my biggest problem of leaving putts short, but didn't make any of about 5, less than 15' birdie putts. 3 putted twice with a sand save. Still a little tentative RE club selection...but as soon as I have that dialed in....79 here I come.

Sort of. People have a misconception about these clubs. Every club is longer and delofted. The PW is 45* like any other PW. But the long irons are a bit longer. They have a little more distance between clubs than most sets so some clubs are longer.

It's how they built the set which is different than others. There is more space between the 4-iron and PW than other sets. This allows the golfer to cover more ground with the same set of clubs.

oh...never answered the question about pricing...$699. I'm certain I could have found a lower price scouring the web...but I'm a little concerned with the counterfeit situation and I was really comfortable with the dealer I purchased from. Also included with the purchase was my fitting which I have no doubt help considerably.

the new Burners are soooo strongly lofted its not even funny. i thought my Tour Burners were strongly lofted, but the Burners are even more less-lofted (if that made sense...), which is why you hit them farther. they do look really nice though. thought about buying them, but ended up going with the tour burners.

Are the lofts bumped up even farther than all the other clubs or are the shafts longer?
Do you really need to hit a 7 iron 210?
