Well, I'm in the market for a new 3 wood. When I first bought my Hibore wood, I thought it was a great club. Recently, I haven't been able to hit it with any kind of consistency. In fact, I didn't even take it on a recent golf trip that I took.

I love hitting my Ping G5 5 wood. Love the sound, and I am usually consistent with it. So I'm looking at other Ping products. So just looking around, I found a Ping G10 3 wood and a Ping G10 15 deg hybrid. I am kind of leaning towards the 3 wood (for some reason, I can't seem to hit my 4 hybrid with any consistency as well).

Anybody hit either of these clubs?

Thx in advance.

Have not hit the hybrid but I have the G10 3w and can say it's a nice club.

The 3W will be a longer club than the hybrid in spite of the fact they have the same loft. The real question should be regarding what yardage you want to fill with this club. As to the club itself the G10 is a great fairway wood and hybrid as well. Personally I'd think you'll get similar yardage from the 15 degree hybrid as you get out of your 5W. The 3W should fill a gap between the 5W and driver. I used to carry a 5W but decided to drop it since I didn't see much yardage difference between it and my 3W. Your experience may vary...

I had the same problem last year so I went with the G10 14 degree 3 wood and the 15 degree hybrid and the 18 degree hybrid that FOR ME anyway filled the gaps I had

There isn't a lot of difference in yardage between a 5W and 3W of the fairway, so if you are happy with the 5W I would not advise to put an almost the same club in your bag, most 3W are a great option from the tee at narrow fairways, but from the fairway hitting it a tiny bit below optimum the result might easy be less than the same shot with your 5W.

Being a HC 20 player, one cannot expect to hit great shots all the time with a 3W, which might well be the hardest club to hit consistently.
