so i purchased a new driver (see sig)
i have a choice in 2 shafts to game in my new FT-3
it is currently coming w an Aldila NV (green) S 65g shaft

i have always liked GD shafts, but dont want to waste time and $ & switching back and forth

which shaft would suggest, based on the following or have you used these shafts and what are your opinions?

they have almost the exact same characteristics

As follows:

GD Aura RED :
*68g, 3.2º torque, high kickpoint, low traj., low ball spin

Aldila NV ( green one ):
*69g, 3.5º torque, low-mid traj., assuming also lower ball spin and mid/high kickpoint
*i'm pretty sure this is a "made for" shaft as it was an option for Callaway when you bought this new (mine is also still new), so i don't know if the characteristics are what the site says they are?

i have a pretty high lauch angle now around 12.1-14º w high ball flight
wanting something to help keep it lower
ss is approx. 103-108mph
as sig., says, Callaway FT-3 neutral

i ended up keeping the ol 907 and put the GD Aura RED in er
really nice shaft
had wicked response, doesnt feel "boardy", its really smooth

produces a good ball flight for my swing...still higher, but not to the moon high and not a worm burner

really reccomend this shaft
price point is good ($75-ish i think), looks stellar and overall a good buy

    • Day 4, 1/2/26.  Played 18 today;  didn't get a chance to warm up (had I known the range was closed, I'd have hit balls at home first).  Played okay, 92 with three balls in the water.  It was raining for more than half the round and I didn't quite appreciate before today just how much I benefit from roll on both drives and approach shots.  I did not adapt well to this change until about hole 15, which is something I have to figure out.
    • Day 143 1-2 Arch wrist in downswing. Having a SLIGHT cup in the lead wrist at the top now. Only paused swings with some rehearsals before swinging at ball.  Used foam ball.
    • Day 459 - 2026-01-02 Had two guys on GEARS Hybrid, so I hopped on afterward (I'm going to do this a lot more often now). So… I've signed myself up for another month of backswing work in two ways: A little more extension of the trail elbow (got into the upper 90s) Less pelvis turn (low 50s).
    • Day 31 (2 Jan 26) - Usual Friday men’s group shootout - good day of shot making  as most shots were right on line to the target point.  Putter and green reads were solid with some great par saves and a really tricky birdie.
    • Day 13 - 2026-01-02 One hour short game work. Chipping balls to different targets, compass putting drill with 2-3% slope.
