Does anyone here change their grips themselves? If so, anyone use an air compressor to do it?

I ordered new grips and am going to put them on myself. I know it can be done with air and was curious if anyone has done it and how they liked it.

I know that you can remove the old grips with an air compressor (so that you can save them… for whatever reason), but I’ve never seen or heard that you can put new grips on using an air compressor.

I tried to change a few grips a few days ago. I had never done it before and thought it might be fun to try. After an hour or so of failed attepmts I had to get it done at Dicks. It was much more difficult than I thought it would be.

There is a 'how-to' video on here somewhere or on You Tube using the air compressor. It looks pretty easy if you have the right equipment.

I have never done it. I do mine the old fashined way I guess.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

I just finished re-gripping my putter no less than 15 minutes ago. Took a razor knife, sliced straight down the grip and peeled it off. Then used the same knife to scrape the excess tape. Cleaned it up some with lighter fluid and placed the new double back tape on the shaft. Squeezed some lighter fluid inside the new grip and along the shaft tape and easily slid the new grip on. Made sure it was aligned the way I wanted and set it aside to dry. the whole process took 10 minutes tops.
