while golfing with my new girlfriend. She might be a keeper. I have played the course a few times before; it's a very hilly track that really takes a bit out of you to walk it but I felt great.

Today, I was just hitting my irons solidly - 14 greens in regulation. I was also absolutely bombing my drives - the kinds of shots that made me realize why I took 3 days of demoing drivers before my purchase. I had one drive from a slightly-elevated tee box that measured 292 yards. I did have one three putt, though. Doh! At the end of the day, I shot a 74 (38-36), beating by best round of 75 (33-42), don't ask about that one. lol It was just a great day all around and I had to share this with you all.

I remember the first time I played with my girlfriend . . . but, back to your round, I can relate to the 33-42, did that myself last summer, its putting the good score in the 30s back to back that always gets me. Either take a big hole somewhere in the back nine or start gagging on the last couple of holes.

Congrats for putting it all together.

Thanks. It's funny, because I used to be such a better golfer. I was golfing nearly every day when I was on the team in high school. And I shot the afore-mentioned 33/42 when I was at the Boyne Golf Academny in Northern Michigan.

I just really concentrated on getting out more this year. I hit balls twice last week and practiced my short game for 3 hours one night. Then today, I finally got to around par. Granted it is near the end of the season, but it's never too late. Now, I want to go golfing on my vacation. Planned on going with the girlfriend to Key West in November. Anyone golf that course? Not really planning a golf vacation because she just walks and doesn't golf - yet.

She got plenty of exercise, walking. I'm trying to get her into the game. She sounded more interested when I told her they make colored golf balls and golf gloves that have cut outs for your finger nails.

I'm going to buy her a putter as a present so she can putt next time.
