What happened to Imada this season?

Ryuji Imada had a fantastic 2008, in which he won a tournament and finished second twice, including a solo second behind Woods at Torrey Pines (Buick Invitational, not U.S. Open). He got to play in the World Cup, finishing third.

The win was particularly amusing, because Kenny Perry hit into the water that had cost Imada the win the year before at the same course, despite that he (KP) cleared the water by 100 yards before the ball went in.

Now, 2009, he has no top-10 finishes and no 6-figure paychecks. Despite this, he was a pretty high seed for the playoffs - I believe his starting seed was the highest of anyone who didn't have a top-10 finish during the season. But he's dead last among those who made the cut, this week, closed with an 81, and is projected to finish at 100 in the FedEx Cup.

Does anyone know what's happening? Did he take the 2-year security from the win and use some of it to go through a swing change? Is he playing more internationally, and I've just missed it? The latter isn't on his schedule at his website.
