Titleist rep (great guy) was visiting our pro today and I was fortunate enough to get to borrow the 2 AP2 irons he had in his bag of new clubs. My reaction to hitting several shots on the range with mine and the new model is very positive. For some reason, the topline seems narrower at address to me, but I can't explain it. Like the look. Hit them with an S300 and really liked the feel, in addition to the look, and the distance was great. Also hit the CBs (why not) and when hit well, they felt good.

Having seen the ads and read a little about the new AP2s here and elsewhere I was skeptical there would be any noticeable difference compared with mine, but there was a difference. Can't say come Spring I'll be abandoning my current irons, or that I should, but if I was buying now I wouldn't have any hesitation.

Thats cool did the rep say when the Cavity backs would be released? How did the cavity backs feel when struck well? Were they workable?

Sorry, I didn't ask about the CBs release date and I'm not good enough at working the ball to give you the insight you are looking for on that. I just happened to be on the range working on my short irons with my little driveway markers (hitting straight to some posts in the distance), so just continued on with that with the new Titleists for a few minutes.

Scary thing was, the first 2 CBs I hit were the "P" and, no kidding, they both landed at the base of the post I was hitting to (perfect "P" distance this morning with a little helping wind). They were the two best looking shots I hit with any of the irons. Of course, this emboldened me to pick up the 6 iron and promptly overswung and was reminded by the feel of the mishit why I probably shouldn't play them on a regular basis.

I wrongly assumed the CBs would be tougher to hit, they really weren't.

Just happened to be in the right place at the right time today, but it was fun to look at the clubs and hit a few.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
