Well if you play a Ping Anser why not stick with that model.

I have the Ping Redwood Anser in Satin Black, 303 SS and it is a nice weight and has great feel.

This is a new one but you should be able to pick up a 2nd hand one cheaper, or the Karsten ones are fairly cheap alternative.

I've got a vtg Ping Anser as well; i think it is Mang Bronze, though. I just know that I can really make it gleam with brass polish. I did that several years ago and have since left it tarnished. Probably the greatest putter ever made. It's certainly the most influential game changing putter of all time.

By the way, I just switched to a Betti after 15 years with the Ping. No noticeable improvement in putting, just something a bit different. I will NEVER sell my Ping.

I am an ebay guy and have bought several clubs there. I have noticed putters are plentiful. I have used a George Low smooth insert putter for over 40 years and recently moved to a TM ROSSA Classic, I really like the groves on the insert. Of course no one can pick a putter for you but I would look for a grooved insert putter with the neck you like. My George Low was a heel shank and my new one is a plumber's neck, I really like the offset of the plumber's neck. Figure out criteria like those and shop for price.

I think a great high-quality/low-cost option right now is the Nike Unitized series. There are a couple different blade and mallet styles to choose from. This series was a Golf Digest Hot List Gold winner in 2007. These putters originally sold for around $300 like most of the high end milled putters, but now sell brand new on TGW.com for $100.

They are all pretty expensive cause even the older ones are fantastic quality. ebay you can find them for about $150..

Dude, if you like your Anser now why not get a newer one? They're only like 90 bucks. The sickest putter out there though is the Spider's. If you got the money.

The thing is I don't really like the anser.. I'm looking at one more of a style like the ping piper or Craz-e

I like the Never Compromise Voodoo Daddy for under $50. It is a different style putter from the blade style of the Ping.

Ebay, similar to Ping putters for between $50 - $100

You should pick based on your stroke. If you go straight back and straight through with no rotation of your shoulders, then a bigger mallet like a spider-sized putter would probably suit your game better. However, if you putt with an arcing stroke, like I do, then you would be better off with a blade or anser type putter. This isn't to say you couldn't do good with a different comnonation, but that's just what most people reccommend. I would look at nike's and older model oddyssey's because they're cheap now and you'll get more than you pay for essentially. If you have a Dick's Sporting Goods near you, check them out. The have great sales on golf often. I do know if you are looking at a more blade style putter that the 07 Rossa classic putters are going for 90 bucks at Dick's. I thought those were great putters but I spent the extra 30 dollars on the 09 model since it had a firmer grooved insert. I'll be sure to keep my eyes open for good deals on the web as well. Good luck!

289.00. its a very good deal in comparison to the cameron's, because you get to customize your own putter with finishes and stamps and paintfill's etc.

Very cool. $289 for a personalized putter seems like a good deal.

I guess the only issue would be if you got it personalized and then ended up not liking it, it seems like it would be harder to get rid of than a "regular" putter.

yes thats true, but its the same model as the newport from scotty cameron, and i am currently using one of them, so i know i will like it. The reason im getting it is because it is cool, and my putter does not have a line on it...technically its my dads putter lol.(another reason)

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
    • I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
