Is there a way to calculate how far the next club up or wood up should go? The reason why I'm asking is that I've had such great success with my Rescue mid #4 at 22 degrees that I'm considering getting rid of all my woods and getting the #3 or #2 to replace them. Currently, I'm hitting my Taylormade Rescue Mid #4 at 200 yards on the dot. So how far would the #2 rescue mid go if it's 16 degrees? Any way to calculate this?

It should be about 10-15 yards per club, irons, I'd imagine woods are slightly more. I'd say you would add 20-40 yards with the 16 degree.....

I wouldn't say 20-40 yards more. I'd say 10-20.

A quote from Kris
...is that college bball really isn't "lower tier". The better teams have their rosters filled with guys who could play in the NBA. hell, guys used to come straight from high school to the NBA. I really don't think there's much of a difference skill-wise between the two.

You think so?? I dunno, I hit a 2 hybrid and got it to go about 30 yards farther than my 3H.....

Those are some pretty hot heads on those things..not like an iron..

i hit a 3hybrid about 230 carry usually....if i tee it up and get a good fairway roll i can get it to 250+. i used to hit my old 5hybrid 200yards, so figure im getting 2 clubs more and 30 yards more carry....woods/hybrid gaps are generally 15-20yds per club and irons are 10-15yd gaps. figure that your 16* hybrid won't go as far as your 3wood, maybe 10yards less carry....but it should be a heck of a lot more accurate.

Considering he was asking about going from a #4 to a #2 I wouls say the 20-40 is accurate.

I hit my TM rescue mid 22* 195 yards. When I hit the 2 rescue well I hit about 220. But I will say I hit the 4 well most of the time. Its very easy to hit. The 2 however, I had some problem hitting well. So much so, that I switched to a fairway wood, and I hit that much better. YMMV.

I replaced my Cobra LD M speed Offset fairway woods 3, 5 & 7 with Nickent 3DX Hybrids.

The offsets were hooking too much....the Nickent are neutral and are straight on.

Replaced #3 wood with #2 Hybrid....both right at 200 yds
Replaced #5 wood with #3 Hybrid....both about 180 yds
Replaced #7 & 4 iron with #4 Hybrid...both about 170 yds

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
