I currently play the PX 6.0 shafts and have no complaints at all. I was just thinking about trying out some Mizuno MP-57's and most seem to come with DG S300 shafts. Any of you guys got any insight about the differences between the two shafts. Thanks in advance.

PX is a lighter shaft that launches the ball higher. DG is a heavier shaft at 130g and has a flatter trajectory. I personally like the DG better because you feel the weight of the club and easier for me to "drop it in the slot." People say the PX has a longer carry, but I haven't noticed a difference.

Having played both for some time in the last three years, I settled back on the DGs. The PXs seemed dead feeling in my case, just a little less punch and not quite the same kick point I like. Of course I have played DGs a lot more than any shaft, so it could be familiarity made the difference. Another guy I play with, who is much better than I am, tried the PXs, and he also switched back to DGs. Some like PX, others don't -- sorry no help.

i can compare the px 5.5 to the dynamic golf s300 and the project x gave me a higher ball flight and about 5 yards longer carry. the s300 is quite a bit heavier than the px 5.5 so it gives a more boring trajectory

well the px is a little stiffer and launches higher.personally since i have a high ball flight the dg is a better shaft for me.sorry no help here its just personal preferance.

I've got the Project X 6.0s in my MP57s and they are fantastic. I get plenty of height and distance with them, and don't notice them flying on a flatter trajectory relative to the DG S300s (which is have in my 67s). My SS is about 102-105 with driver, with a pretty quick transition, and the 6.0s are just right for me. I've got 6.5s in my travel set of X-forged, and those are a little lower-flying, but 6.0 is a nice balance. If you want it to go higher, just swing harder.

I concur. I hit the PX 6.0 on a set of TM r7 TPs for a while. Got my high ball flight under control. Nice launch profile. The dg s300s might get you hitting higher. Hit them in for a club fitter into a screen to find out how it will work for you.

Looking at this thread, I am seeing half the folks saying the Project X 6.0 will fly the ball higher and the other half saying the same thing about the DG S300. I'm a little consued.

There is more that goes into trajectory than just the type of shaft. The clubhead design and individual swing characteristics also affect the ball flight. Like many people say, you have to hit them and see which performs best for you. I am a high ball hitter (not ballooning) and I get about the same height from DG's, PX's and SGI shafts I have hit.

    • Day 45 (27 Dec 25) - played at one of the sisters courses to my home course.  Solid session through the bag….of the 7 pars, 4 were up and down 1 putts (wedges were dialed in) from 6’ or less.  Off the tee - solid, irons were consistent even it a bit under on distances.  Course management was on - stayed the course even with a few offline recovery shots required…
    • Day 453 - 2025-12-27 Two things today for about 48 balls (I like to hit three or six balls at a time before taking a small break to pick them up): Right leg stays flexed a bit, internal rotation on the backswing. Kept my eyes looking at the ball and trusted that the backswing was fine.
    • Day 137 12-27 Worked on wider backswing today and tried to remain flowy. Recorded face on and down the line. Swing is looking better but I mentally felt off today, just frustrated. Tomorrow's a new day!
    • Day 8 - 2025-12-27 45 minutes of short game work at local muni, mostly putting work. Trying to get lots of reps in with consistent quality tempo.
    • I guess I'll stay at -16 for this year's challenge.  I never birdied holes 7, 13 (the 2 hardest holes) in 2025.  Also had a couple Eagle putts on the par 5's, but didn't convert either time.  Looking forward to 2026, though!
