I don't know if this is the right spot to post this, but for those of you who like to play Callaway HX Tour balls, Sam's Club has them for $25.11 a dozen. You can't beat the price for my favorite golf ball.

Seems like a great deal to me and I wanted to pass the word. Hopefully, I'm not breaking a rule by posting this here.

I really like these golf balls but they scuff so easily. After a few holes, they are pretty beat up. FYI, you can get the new Cally tour i/ix for $25-30.

I've only tried the tour ix and they are similar to the HX Tour but better durability.

I have plenty of my favorite maxfli golf balls so I bought a dozen the first time and had my wife pick up one more this past weekend.

To be honest, I had never seen the ix Tour for $29 so I will buy those in the future. I go to GPP all the time and never priced them out. My mistake.

Actually, when shipping is added the ix tour is priced out of my reach. It's $10 to ship them unless there is a better deal on shipping through GPP and I don't see it.

That $15 is a lot of money to me right now.

I think the iX plays very similar to the ProV1x, but I haven't found it's any more or less durable. I switched from the ProV1x after I got new wedges this season b/c I kept cutting the covers. I picked up a dozen iX's cheap at a local golf shop that is going out of business, and I seem to have about the same cover wear issues. The ball is quite good, but I think I'll stick to my Bridgestones after this dozen goes, they are just too right for me.

To be honest, the Pro V1 and Callaway Tour level golf balls are a little above my talent level. But, I need a soft golf ball to reduce vibration. Same with my clubs, I want nothing more than to progress as I get close to shooting 80 so my clubs evolve into player's clubs.

Won't and can't happen. My gimpy body, particularly my right hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder and my neck can't take the vibration.

So, finding Tour level balls cheap is a huge deal for me. As time goes on, I plan on buyng more of the Callaway Tour level balls. I like them a lot more than the ProV1 and ProV1x which seem to be longer for better players. When I hit them they are very, very short.

Not so much with the Callaway versions. They seem to go about as far as the el cheapo Maxfli Revolution Distance I play. Which, are about 10-20 yards shorter than the Callway Warbird ( I hit the Warbird the farthest of any ball on the market) but the Maxfli bites on the greens a lot better and is a soft ball.

YMMV.

    • It’s possible the graphite shaft has a small internal crack or a delamination. Tapping it and hearing a vibrating sound is usually a sign the shaft isn’t behaving as it should. Since the store wasn’t helpful, consider taking it to a club fitter or a pro shop that can check the shaft flex and integrity. If it’s defective, you might be able to get a replacement from the manufacturer.
    • It’s interesting how much a 3D system changes your understanding. Observing top players in full detail and realizing the trail knee shouldn’t fully extend is a great example of why being open to new info is so important. I like your approach: not trying to be “right,” but trying to teach correctly based on actual evidence. Makes sense why golfers would benefit from this perspective.
    • I would say both are equally not the best for golf. Is it better than nothing, sure.  Golf is an athletic motion. Professional golfers are doing a comprehensive workout routine focusing on strength, power, flexibility, stability. They might include some yoga into the routine. I would put both of them in the recovery bin, not golf enhancement bin.  If you want to increase swing speed, core strength, longevity in golf and life, then lift heavy weights.
