Anyone hitting these? I'm interested in the 2 iron as a club to gap my 3iron (220yds) and 4 wood (250yds) Im thinking of getting one to play around with but I'd like some thoughts. My local Mizuno dealer doesn't stock them and will only order one in if you commit to buy up front...LAME.

I used to have a full set of them and I wasnt too crazy about them, but I think the problem was mostly to do with the shafts.
I had problems with not being able to hit the ball very high, but mine all had Project-X 6.0 shafts, which Ive been told are designed for low launch; so that might have been the problem.
They were beautiful clubs though and felt great when you hit the ball solidly. If you hit your irons better than your woods, they would be a good option because they look and feel a lot like an iron, but they have a slightly bigger head; so they are a little bit easier to hit than a traditional long iron.
Id try looking on Ebay. Thats where I bought the ones that I had and I didnt pay over $50 for each of them.

Definitely eBay, very cheap.

I love mine, it feels great, doesn't look too big, gets the ball up high.

Before you buy one off ebay, make sure you take a look at one somewhere. I was also thinking about the 18 degree but the offset was crazy. Didnt set up well to me and kept hitting hooks in the similator. A new MP FLI HI just came out this september with reduced offset due to the complaints but I havent yet seen it in the golf shops or on ebay.

I have the same one you want, 18*. For a 28 handcapper like me it's hard like hell to hit even from a tee, let alone without one. But it feels amazingly sweet when I catch it on the sweet spot, and it's amazingly beautiful in punch and run shots, as it's loft is already very low, you do not need to close the face, so it's very easy to punch with.

I'll have to admit, I bought it on impulse, and I knew 99% it would be hard for me to hit, but at $40 brand new in plastic wrap and DG R300 shaft I just could not resist the clean look of the MP cut muscle. It looks really nice in the bag, and it sits there teasing and tempting me to become a better golfer.

At all costs, try one before you buy it.

Edit: I just recently tried fooling around the range trying to shape shots, and I found it to be really easy to work the ball with. As I said, I can't really hit it that good, but even on punch shots I can still move the ball right to left and left to right easily. The MX-950 hybrids thought are beautiful for these kinds of shots; I never even thought I could draw the ball one day until I tried it with these babies, just beautiful.
My achievements:
Eagles: 0
Birdies: 18
Best Round: 89

Thats why its in the MP line. Its not a club for high-handicappers.
