I have never actually seen one in person and have no idea how I will putt with it. However, I live in a fairly remote area of the country and am a lefty, so that means the odds of me trying out more than about three LH putters of any brand, much less a good one, are slim to none. I am left with the recommendations of others to guide me in this decision.

I hope I like it or it will be in the classifieds section pretty soon.

I also putt lefty, but there was a demo righty black series at golf galaxy last time i was there. Stroked a few putts and the thing was sweet. The weighting of it was nice, and had a really nice swing to it. Hitting several putts with that, then the Odyssey model i use, mine felt so light. I've definitely got a black series in my sights down the road.

I've rolled a few inside at stores and I really like the milled Black Series 1 (no "i"). Has a good weight to it and gets the ball actually rolling very quickly. Only thing I don't like is the sightline, wish you could just get a dot...

You wont be disappointed.

I putted with one in Golf Galaxy when I was buying a putter. I went with the White Hot #1 because it didn't feel much different to me and it was less than half the price.

If money didn't matter and Scotty Cameron was out for whatever reason (not sure if lefty SC's exist) I'd have gone for the Black Series #1. But you won't be sorry.

Thanks for the feedback. To be honest, I'm not sure if I ordered the Series 1 or 1i. I ordered it from GolfLink and the description said it was the #1, not #1i. Anyway, I ordered it with a 34" shaft, which I feel is good for me since I choke down on my 35" putter now, which incidentally is a White Hot Rossie. I have putted with the WH Rossie fairly well in terms of alignment, but my distance is way off, especially when I am playing muni courses (which I usually am). So, I am hoping for an improvement.

If nothing else, I'll have two distinctly different putters and that should tell me something about what I need to work on.

I picked up this putter at Golf Discount recently and thought, wow, now this is a putter! The balance on it was so good and the ball rolled smooth as silk. Definately the best putter I've tried.

Unfortunately, it was a bit out of my range. I ended up with a Crimson Series Blade which I like almost as much.

I know it's such an impossible argument, but I wonder how much better I'd put with a $250 putter, vs. my $100 putter bought for $35 on ebay? Yes, when putting in the store it feels at least 2.5 times better. But will it actually translate? It is the putter (me), not the putter (club), right?

Regardless, I just cannot get over the idea that it makes sense to spend $350 on driver I'll use 5-8 times a round as opposed to a putter I'll use 30 times. That math seems obvious. However, 8 poor drives will easily cost you more than the 2-3 putts you can save with a better putter, right?

I might be rationalizing spending big on a driver and not putter. Someone back me up (or tell me I'm an idiot, I can take it haha).

But why spend $350 for a driver that you can get a year later for $149.99 and that you will want to replace in a few years anyway when it becomes obsolete? Putters are forever.

Plus, putting is all about looks, feel and confidence. If you play the game by strict rules and putt everything out, this becomes all the more important on those three footers or getting those long ones close. At my level of proficiency, I can put any fairly recent driver 265-285 out in the fairway. Putting and short game are really what determines how low I can go, so I need use a putter(s) that I FEEL the most confident in. Lastly, for me, collecting high quality putters is a great way to insure that I practice and work hard at my putting every chance I get.

Odyssey makes great putters. I have had mine for 5 years and will never replace it. I have went through many drivers (finally found the one for me), and several irons/wedges, but have never had to look further for a putter.

Save your money. It won't make an appreciable difference.
