i generally just use the words on the ball to lineup my putts because everytime i try to draw a line it ends up being really crooked.. because of the dimples. how do you guys manage to get a straight line?

prutkows,

There are tons of little gadgest for this, the most used is probably Line-m-up: http://www.uniquesportsaccessories.c...f7c174b6c25832 Tourstage also makes a nifty one as well. Or you could be like Tiger and check your nerves by freehanding it.

I use a plastic template that puts a line for directional line-up and has two perpendicular lines to help square the club face. I use it on the tee as well as when putting. It is not a given that you will square the putter face perpendicular to the directional line, if you have no guide. This thing has made a big difference for me over the years.

I got it from some site on the web, but I don't remember where. This one is similar...

I use the cardboard tube from a roll of toilet paper and a sharpie.

But doesn't it bother you that you are associating your game with a certain bodily function?
