I was thinking about trying out the older Adams A3OS iron set. Out of the box, standard stiff men's 3-5 hybrid (stock graphite ), 6-PW (steel). I'm looking to upgrade and get rid of my 3 iron (Cobra) down to PW and upgrade a SW from my current Tiger Sharks. The reason I'm asking is that alot of users that I noticed from reviews portray like they are for a more seniors age group. I'm as novice as it gets at 37 yrs old and appreciate any opinions. My swing speed has never been analyzed, but my preference has been stiff shafts.

I don't have experience with those irons, but I picked up the Adams XTD Insights at Dick's and although they cost less than $200, I like the feel of them. I think Adam's makes a very good product, but you really need to try them out to see if it's what works for you. The only complaint I have, is they appear a little wide at address...but tha's just a visual thing. My guess is that the hybrids probably look similar.

Very good choice for beginner's clubs. Worth the money for sure. I'd highly recommend these if you're "novice". I owned the hybrids this year and found them very forgiving. I've also demo'd the irons in both stiff and regular and thought they were just fine.

I would recommend getting a pro to help fit you. Even if you live somewhere cold, I'm sure there is a pro in the nearest city at least , if you don't live in the city, who can give you an hour lesson indoors during the winter, to give you some advice about buying clubs. I think it's important to get some advice when a novice to this game.
