anyone have any experience with this or anything. I just won one on ebay for a total of 34 bucks including shipping, and these retail at Golf Galaxy for 150. From the reviews ive read is that they are really good and make it go straight high and long, with one really big con, a lot of people say they can snap really easy. Anyone have any experience with one?

Yea. I have one in my Titleist 983E driver which until the other day was my ideal setup; still have it as a backup though which I won't hesitate to use when I feel like it. Nothing wrong with it what-so-ever.

I have the Tour 75 shaft in stiff flex. Is yours the 68g version? I believe the 68 is still an excellent shaft.

My experience with the T75S is it's one of the best shafts I've used. Plenty long enough but I like it for it's stability and feel best. I get pretty good dispersion with it. Great feeling kick through impact. Med launch trajectory with no ballooning at all. Low-med spin characteristics I think. Nice graphics as well! For what it's worth, I think Trevor Immelman used them during his Masters win.

As for breakage, that's solely, IMO, down to useless installation. I'm pretty sure that people tip prep far too much and remove all the nanofuse metallic material on the tip thinking it's paint/lacquer. My shaft came with explicit instructions re. tip prep (and you can find it on the Epic web site as well in the "Specifications/technical info" section) and I self-installed it fine. Be very gentle with the sandpaper (I actually used a finer grit than they recommend to be on the safe side) if you're doing it yourself; you just want to remove the clear lacquer until you see the bright, metallic nanofuse material coming through. Do NOT continue sanding through to the darker graphite/polymer layer underneath. I have Epic Fairway shafts in a number of fairway woods as well and they're also great; pulled and re-installed them in different heads a few times as well with no problems at all.

Let me know how you make out. I have a Prolaunch Platinum I may get installed on my HiBORE XLS. Was thinking about using Golf Galaxy in my area.

i think im just going to tell the guy how to do it/how instructions say do it.. i may sound like a dick trying to tell him how to do his job. but id rather sound like a dick to some guy i rarely ever see in my life rather than my shaft snapping.

They

should know but I don't see why you shouldn't subtly mention it somehow.

what, in your opinion, should i tell him, that he only needs to shave the clearcoat off till the bright nanofuse metal shows? or what?

I guess. This seems to be critical re. breakages etc. The rest of the installation is the same as for any other shaft.

Maybe you could pre sand it or ask them what the step by step process is that they use. If it doesn't sound right, show them the instructions you have.

i wouldnt know what to do probably and dont have the right grit sandpaper... i think first ill ask if he's done any of these shafts before and see what he says about it. if he sounds like he knows what he's doin with it and has done them before ill let him go for it. but if he hasnt ill show him the instuctions and tell him.

and also, does anyone know how much they charge to take the grip off of your old shaft and put it on your new one?
